Fake Mnandi

Yikes. Other than the crap lockup on the second knife in the video, I would probably be duped by these. Are the fakes just that good, or am I just that much of a CRK n00b? The pouch looks bad, but I would never have caught the points that kreole is showing.

If you have seen a real Mnandi you will not be duped by these. There is no refinement to these knives and the quality of finish is glaring. They are heavy, clunkly and full of flaws next to a real Mnandi.

I imagine handling them is quite different, but those pics and the vid is pretty convincing. Scary.

Pictures can show or hide a lot, look at the thickness of the Ti on those fakes as well as the inlay. Have a look for a review of a real one and you will be able to see the difference, even on a video. The fakes are rather chunkier than the real CR Mnandi.

Well, same Mnandi is appearing .... yet again .... this time, offered by a supposedly eBay and Paypal registered non-profit!

Yet another seller listing one of these. He also as a set of "5 genuine Microtech" otf knives for less than 1/2 of what 1 sells for.:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251150514413#ht_2290wt_1446
I sent the seller a note asking if he realized it was a fake. There seemed to be genuine concern from somebody who didn't know anything about the knives, but was simply a consigner and asked for help in authenticating it. I suggested they request help from CRK and gave them the email...

Hopefully whomever I've been speaking with is being honest and will reach out to CRK for help before it sells.

LOLZ...Aye, I bet their on the phone right now. :D

Ever heard of a game called "whack a weasel" ? They took that one down but an other pops up...

I hate to say it man, but really they just spun you a line and know full well those are fake. Have a look at peoples other items being sold, they are often very telling.

They pulled the listing.

You couldn't just let me think I did some good work, could you :)

Unfortunately, haze is right. I had complained and emailed eBay one time because of a fake sebenza that was up, and they never took it down. I even think some others on here had reported it also. I'm to the point now that I use eBay as a last resort..

eBay probably would remove it if the Manufacturer reported it to them. Otherwise, there's no way for them to authenticate someone's claim that a product is fake; especially since it could be falsely reported by a competitor or someone with bad intentions.

E-bay couldn't care less about items that are fake, counterfeit or even stolen from old people and babies. They just have to pretend they do to meet legal requirements. They more than often do nothing about it and it's quite obviously a huge outlet for the fake/counterfeit industry and that makes ebay money, which is all they are there for at the end of the day.

I still find ebay to be alright provided you know what you're looking for. A cheap HDMI cord - perfect. Used DVD - no problem. Finding a diamond-in-the-rough bottle of scotch that somebody is selling when they've got no idea what they have - I've found a couple :) Most anything else - thanks but no thanks.

I would think that a long-term business model couldn't be sustained with that attitude, but I suppose there are enough blissfully ignorant people out there - or just those who care more for the label than the quality - to keep them going...

E-bay is easy to play. You can just keep making new accounts as the problem accounts get banned or frozen. There is no way ebay can stop people doing that that so it seems they just don't bother. All one has to do it look at the sheer amount of questionable stuff sold on e-bay to see there is clearly a problem that is for all it's worth to us is having nothing or atleast not enough done to combat it. These knives are taken down after complaints from people like us, not because ebay is activly looking for them.

same seller just screwed someone else with a fake sebenza with graphic....
