Fake Strider for $500???

Gentlemen,

Looks like a fake Chinese Strider to me...

Am I wrong? I have never seen steel insert on the liner lock...

I have not either. Also, the s30v ones I have seen have been clearly marked and this one was not. I don't know for sure if it's another red flag, but it was worth mentioning.
 
I checked AGknives where this person says bought it... almost 100% sure this is a fake one - steel insert, strange grip, strange stamps on a blade...
 
Description says "milled steel handle scales". That's odd. Also, one thing I noticed is the detent hole. On every Strider I own, the detent hole passes all the way through the blade; this one does not. Lastly, I have never known Strider to put bearings in his knives. Lastly, take a gander at this.

I reported the ebay post and sent an email to the seller. It's an obvious fake.

AGknives? He claims GPknives, Grand Prairie, no they don't sell those, it's absolutely fake from China. It's also against the rules here to link a live ebay auction.

Definitely a fake. It doesn't have any stamp indicating the steel type like all real ones do. Also no such thing as steel insert in any of these - or any other liner lock that I've ever seen...total red flag right there.

Saw something similar about three weeks ago, also on an Ebay auction, and upon further scrutiny it proved to be a total Chinese $20 knock-off. Had steel inserts, weird handles that mimic a real Strider but were made of some cheap crappy composite material...it was almost exactly like this except just a different color scheme and was supposed to be a different "model" Strider.
 
any way to message the buyer? ill be honest tho, if someone bought that fake for 700+ they deserve it. tho its WRONG the seller knowingly did this.
 
No you can't see who the buyer is even. You'd think if someone had 800 bucks for a knife, they'd at least do the research.
