Photos Fall/Autumn Traditionals

Gracias Will :)
We had a wonderful walk yesterday afternoon with my wife and daughter. Those little masked robbers are the highlights of our walks :)
I was a bit surprised for how quickly things and colours are changing in the forest. I am sure in your "neck of the woods" is a lot more pronounced even.
Have a great Sunday :)
Good to hear. You're right, the autumn storms have set in now: high winds and endless rain, very few leaves left at all and dark. Getting out is not so easy or pleasant. Then comes snow and General Winter... until May.

Here's a shot from a year or two back when the hips and haws were ripening

Fall for me is always a time of messing around in the yard and in the woods camping and doing "bushcraft" things, which usually means some kind of traditional scandi-style knife and lots of wood whittling, carving, processing sticks etc.

Here's a couple of nordic inspired file knives I made a while back. The top one was just an experiment using a cutoff from the file the middle one was made from. Turned out to be a great little pocket beast and a good whittler. The big one in the middle was my experiment to make a drop point version of a small leuku style knife. And the bottom one was my take on a fairly standard puukko style knife.

Thank you for introducing me to another craftsman I did not know.
Yes, Ruple is amazing - have a couple of his folders, very fine knives indeed.

Sorry, a Japanese Maple is part of the Acer family....!

Indeed, with some research I find Ruple a craftsman with great talent.
Thanks for your tree identification.
