Fallkniven F1 On The Way

Hah! Do you live in bear country Robert? That is some big medicine. I feel so inadequate with just a .38 J frame and a SAK! I need to upgrade. Nice combo.

No bears here, although there are some coyotes and way too many deer. No, I bought it to make holsters, otherwise I'd never use it. The .44 mountain gun, the new 329 PD, and the Alaskan seem to be the more popular outdoor guns for Alaska bear country.

I have a professional guide who uses one for his 329 PD. I asked why not a Glock 10mm, he said the problem was the ejection port of an auto could get caught in the fur of the bear while it was eating you, but the cylinder of the revolver turns even while you're being eaten!

Yikes!

'Fraid I don't have any top down spine comparison shots of a F1 and S1, I'll see if I can't get a picture up later tonight of the spine with a Victorinox Farmer for comparison. Arbitrarily chosen, they seem popular, and it's my EDC so it's always on me. :o
As for the Glock, it's just a plain-Jane Generation 3 G22 in .40S&W. Again, just happens to be my every day carry, so it was close at hand for a picture.
Now, back to cooking dinner for the wife, or that picture below may just be closer to reality than Brian thinks

Keep in mind, I suck with a camera. But here ya go, a couple of spine pictures of the F1. Hopefully that'll give you some scale, and help your decision.

Thanks a bunch!

I understand the S1 is a bit thicker than the F1, but the F1 is about as thick as I want. Just means I'll have to go back to doing research. :p:D

Great knife. My F1 lives where it was designed to live. In my flight bag! it goes on my belt in the plane and in the woods. Its just the right size and I may pick up another one just for a hunting knife to supplement my Buck 119.
