Fallkniven S1 Forest,Bark River or other cabin knife

This matters to me very much, but something made in Japan or in most of the UK doesn;t bother me near as much as other foreign ventures. While I search in vain for USA made products from underwear to knives, if I can;t find it, I track less blood in on the carpet when I come home with something from Japan and UK.

+1

But I would opt for "The Commonwealth" rather than just the U.K., to include Canada, N.Z. and Oz. :)

I am a Bark River guy, have I mentioned I have a lot of Bark River knives?

I think I like Bark River most for this particular task.

ha ha ha

True!

Yes, I meant to infer that, but excluded them in my haste for brevity. I especially like the Nordic knifemakers. That brings up a point, I know they must make knives there, but I never see NZ, Canadian, Aussie -made knives. They have to be out there, somewhere.

What about RAT-3 ~ RAT-7 ? Cold Steel SRK ? These knives are tough & are a little easier on the wallet ;) Also check out Ranger knives RD series .

How about a Grohmann? You can get an overflap sheath. I prefer the carbon steel blade.

AG Russell Deer hunter in VG-10 (Sheath isn't much, but it works)
Nice size, slim blade.

You can also get the "short" Ka-Bar "Marine/USMC" knife. Has 5" blade, of 1095 alloy. Tough to beat for <$50.
