Anyone familiar with these knives? Fallkniven
They look like they re well made?

You will not regret purchasing a FK. Very solid well built knives. I have an F1, S1, and an A1. for different purposes , although my go-to seems to be the middle S1 as it's a good compromise of cutting ability, size and weight. Your preferences may vary but whichever you choose , I think you'll be very satisfied. Sharpening convex grinds is not very difficult either, just different technique required. Good luck :)

They really are beautifully designed and manufactured. The only one I have is the H1 although I've handled others. I can believe that any of these are lifetime knives.

great knives, very tough, dependable, strong build and very good cuters
keep in mind most of them have convex grinds ;anyway i sharpen my F1 on the sharpmaker or a small DC3, so no big problems there

I would just restate all the positive comments made so far. I got Fallkniven fever for awhile (I may never completely recover) and have about five or six of them now - folders and fixed blades. I'm very happy with the quality and workmanship on all of them. They've all been very sharp out of the box also.

Very familiar, own and use several, both fixed and folder.

Everything has pretty much been said already. They hold court among the best production knives.

Use them for a lifetime, then pass them along.

BTW. they are convex ground blades, but many come from factory with a micro bevel edge. You can sharpen them anyway you feel comfortable sharpening. Full convex, or micro bevel.

I have an RC6, Junglas, Had RC5 and RC4, still have a Bravo 1, A1, S1, F1. I can easily say my Fallknivens have been the stand out. I have put them all thru heavy testing, chopping, baton, feather sticks, curving, etc. Have beat the tips as well. They cut better, chop (except for the Junglas), hold an edge better and the grips are far more tacky so it will stay in your hand during the cold and heavy use. The convex edge puts them in a higher performance bracket. I do love my ESEE but they just cant hang with my Fallkniven. My A1 has seen the most and it is ready for my. The sheath is a little weak but it does the job and the knife stays put. I do like how light the sheath is as well as how small. ESEE sheaths are better but for different reasons. I cant say enough good, I have used them with no fear of failure! Surpassed my expectations completely. The lower profile makes the knife feel small but perform at something much bigger. You cannot go wrong. I would love a Busse but they are steep cash and hard to get. For me the Fallknivens are king and have been proven to do so!

I had gotten a nice deal on the H1, and it has been worth every penny. Besides, the seller didn't have the original sheath and had a Wilderness sheath from Bob Dozier made for it! :)

But I think the F1 is really the more general purpose small Fallkniven. There is a reason it is so popular in survival discussions. It's just a great personal utility knife.

I got my F! from a trade with another forumite. And it has become one of my very favorite knives. The design is so very simple , but so funtional as well.

I am not a big fan of the Krayton handle versions. (Just not a huge fan of Krayton). Too soft, not enough durability, a bit too tacky. That said, I have had some of my knives with that handle material on a couple of my knives for 10+ years now, and they are still working.

One handle is a bit wiggly, and one I cut with another knife (one of the reasons I say I am not a huge fan of the Krayton). I think the stacked leather handles are really good looking.

The great thing about the Falknivens is the steel. The laminated steel is great stuff. Keeps an edge for a long time. They tend to have a great edge too. Convex is my favorite, and they come sharp.

If you are going to buy one, and don't know how to sharpen a convex edge, read a tutorial or two, and either buy or make a strop. Super easy to maintain, and great edges!

i have a few.

The TK1 is my favourite production piece

The TK5 is a great little knife

Everyone should own a TK4 :D
