Famous knife bubbles and fads?

A couple of deflating bubbles are Shirogorov and Grismo. I'm not criticizing the knives, but they suffered from severe over-hype and the market is currently adjusting. In the case of Shiro, they're becoming more readily available and there are real alternative from Cherberkov and others. Regarding Grismo, people are finally saying "WTF will I use this blade for?". These both may have already popped. I'm seeing resale on these at or below new selling prices.
Grimsmo bubble busted a while back due to the near to useless blade shape, high prices, and extended ETAs. Unfortunately he hasn’t seemed to notice.

I never understood the attraction to this folder, I can remember how NicK Shabazz raved about it on ytube, kind of embarrasing..

It's beyond my understanding how someone could love this, and pay the high dollar price. And the blade; chisel up front followed by a recurve edge. Priceless.. 😳
I mean just LOOk at it! 🤣

I don’t think traditional pocket knives are a fad…they’ve been around longer than anyone currently posting on this forum.
Haven't they been around for about as long as pockets have?

I can never tell if it’s Shabazz or Gilbert Gottfried doing the voice over.

Hahaha! I have to confess I like it, but I like quirky stuff. It’s like Salvador Dalí meets Umnumzaan tanto. If the bubble REALLY REALLY bursts, I’d totally like one.

I have no idea how I’d sharpen it! 🤣

"Each to their own notion", said the old woman as she kissed the cow...

I quite like my little gerber folding cleaver.

It does sort of what warncliffs or utility knives do. That tip scoring or slicing sort of thing. Which because I am not seal team 6 is the majority of my knife use.

Or in other words they open packets really well. Even those impossible plastic blister packets.

That one seems more like a Razel style knife which I imagine would be handy for carpentry or some such. I meant the neck knife sized little cleavers with a ~2" blade and a 3- finger grip.

I think it may be more accurate to say the secondary inflated market for GEC won’t last.

I hope not, in the long term it's bad for the hobby, limiting their ability to reach new customers.

Spyderco Sprint runs are still hot but it dow seem like it's slowing down. Probably something like market saturation 1-3 sprints per month over the last few years...that is a lot of knives and while the most desirable knives still crash retailer sites its nice to see some sitting available for a few hours or even days.
