I'm out of here due to a deal gone bad. Thank you (PSYOP) for standing up, not so for another Beckerhead. I'm likely out $400.00 but whatever. Be smart when you deal with others here. People here turn on you really fast.

That sucks!
I've had several packages show on the tracking website that they were delivered that did not show up at my place for another day or 2 -- hopefully that's the case here.
best of luck.

I wouldnt let one trade run you off man. For what it's worth I don't think you scammed anyone.

Knifehunt, your post made it sound like it was a Beckerhead who you had bad dealings with.
That's not the case, right?
You were refering to responses in the gbu thread, right?

I sure hope this all works out for you in the end.

Right bro, not a Beckerhead...... The guy freaked when I told him the knife was not delivered, but it showed that it was on the website. I was pissed that he didn't insure the to protect me. If I screw up a deal, I make good one way or another. I was so upset that I was up all last night thinking about it. I have a very demanding job and do not need that kind of stress in my life.

this is why i never ever deal in large cash amounts on the internet with strangers, as it is i hope it shows up in the next day or two and i would not let one bad experice ruin the whole idea behind the forum!!!

Sad, but true here too. Buyer beware. Hopefully the package was insured. When the $ amount is over 100.00, I always demand it. Also, exhaust every avenue with the shipper to provde proof of delivery to YOUR address. If they can't, you might get your money back, but it ain't easy. Good luck.

look in your bushes, around your house/porch, check with neighbors. delivery agents sometimes are too clever...

demand delivery confirmation. file a stolen package report too.

I've had packages sent via USPS that came up delivered even though they never arrived. I've had knives that I've shipped via priority mail make it the destination, only to return and go back again. My mailbox is in a row with 5 other boxes and I've discovered
a large flat rate box just sitting on top of the mail boxes. I'd hate to see you quit.

I wouldn't get too excited about it just yet. It'll probably show up in the next couple of days. If not, I still wouldn't let it ruin my day -sh** happens. As long as you know you didn't steel it or intentionally do anything to make this happen you can sleep well and move on.

Just my 2¢...

People did get awfully crappy in the GBU thread.
Knifehunt, as far as I have seen your a stand up guy, and I would hate to see you bail over some asshats in a thread.
IMHO the guy who mailed it is responsible until the knife is in your hand. ANYTHING I send that's worth more than 50 bucks gets insured, and sig required shipped.
The post office blows, and anyone shipping without these things is irresponsible in my personal opinion.
If you sent him the money and the knife doesn't show then he needs to get you a comparable knife in trade, or reimburse you the cash. IF he had insured it, they would have required a sig, and a claim could be processed if it was "Delivered" without a sig, or with a fraudulent sig.

I very frequently have bad experiences with package delivery. Miss delivered, showing delivered, when not actually delivered yet.

I had a led tv and a ps3 both just left on my front porch all day on different occasions.

I have not had one actually get lost yet. I had a check go to the wrong side of the state. No resemblence in gthe addresses. They forwarded it on to the correct address for me. When I tried to contact the business to thank them, the business did not exist!

On a side note, I insure everything, unless I can afford to replace it. I insist on signature required and insurance.

Thanks guys! I think I just need to cool down a bit. $400.00 is a big hit with nothing to show. He just sent me an email asking if I am going to pull a fast one and file a Paypal dispute. I just don't get it. I just had a bad feeling about the deal and backed out, and now it's all screwed up. I still stand by by my thought that he should have insured it weather I told him to or not.

Oh, BTW his user name here is (MikeyD) No reason he should get to hide in the shadows......

PayPal requires a signature for anything over $250. If the transaction exceeded $250 they will open a claim and you will receive a refund. ALL USPS should be shipped with signature confirmation, regardless of insured value. IMO the pkg doesn't exist unless I signed for it!

I owned a piece of a startup company (ashford.com) and bought my wife's engagement ring at wholesale through the company. It was a 2-ct Asscher-cut, e-color and IF. I wait all day for the pkg and UPS shows up at my condo bldg. The driver (woman) drops off 20 of 21 packages... and guess what? Mine is the only package not accounted for. My doorman suspected she had it on her and caught her in her truck. It was sitting on the passenger seat. The package screamed high-value. I would've been out $20k.

The lesson-learned is to take as many precautions as you can, regardless of the value. A lot of the stuff sold here is one-off and can't be easily replaced.

(Wife subsequently lost the ring in a rental car in Breckenridge, CO).

Agreed.

99% of the time you will be ok.

But if only 1% of the time a deal goes bad it can cost you a lot. Heck - if things go bad only .1% of the time you could be out a lot of cash.

Knifehunt I hope you stick around. There is a real good chance that USPS will figure out where the package is. I have even had an overnight package show delivered that was delivered to the wrong address. The carrier realized he screwed up and USPS made it right. The mods have even said not to refund the guy his money yet. I know your stressed but you didnt do anything wrong and you should try to relax and let it get figured out.

I can't thank you enough bro for your support. I truly appreciate what you said in that thread, it made me feel good. Thanks you.

Hey your a good guy and I dont say that because your a Beckerhead I say that because you proved it. So yeah it pisses me off that people who have nothing to do with the deal want to chime in assuming stuff.

It's human nature bro...... I shook it off. All I can do is hope the knife shows up, and I'll be happy, if not I'll be working some OT.

Again, thank you..... I appreciate it more than you know.
