Dear members,

I am pleased to announce the release of the 4" and also a 3" version of my K2 knife in 2015. The K2 has proven to be a very successful design and it has been received very well by the knife market. towards the later part of 2015 the K2 will be available in a more refined 4.5" version which was the original size of this knife, and also the other two sizes mentioned above.

Thank you all,

Sounds good Farid. :)

Nice! I could go for a 3" model! Will the entire knife be scaled down, or will just the length be shortened?

The entire knife is scales down, length, width, everything, also the design has had many small changes, thickness of the 4.5" and the 4" K2 is 12mm not taking in to account the head of the pivot and spacer screws, the 3" K2 is thinner.

Can anyone shed any information on the properties of the blade steels proposed? It seems like the D3 might be a harder steel with better edge retention and the CPM-4v would be a tougher steel. I may be all wet with that assumption. Anyone?

Really looking forward to these. I love my k2 but it is too long to carry in ct. It is my indoor knife.

It is very good to hear from you Farid. We have missed you, my friend!

Thanks,
D3 is a good steel, nothing fancy just a tool steel which is hard enough to cut well at 60rc but not too hard that you will have difficulties sharpening it.
Speak soon my friend

I'll be very interested in the 3" version. Looking forward to the photos.

I am also looking forward to this, it's been a while since I have wanted to release the medium size K2 with a 4" blade and the more I looked at the medium size I also wanted to release an even smaller version with a 3" blade. I hope to have a large batch of these two new k2 folders in a few months, as I start to build them I will start a list for everyone. I will continue to build the original size and after refining the design it is now around 4.6" blade.
take care

You will like the smaller K2's, the large K2 in my opinion was a pretty thin knife to carry but it did have a 4.5" blade, I think the 4" version will be received very well by everyone who intend to edc it, the 3" version is to me a pocket jewel and this will have a CPM-4v blade and I am going to try and HT it pretty high on RC.
