Farm Life

We built it for a milking stand. But we will use it for many duties. i.e. doctoring, castrating, hoof trimming, ect.. And yes shaving their udders before milking. So, a lot of this will be done with a Buck knife. DM

"Oh my God...the knife is back! Everyone run for your life!"

The manure is cleaned from their stall and hauled to shrubs and fruit trees. It's used for fertilizer. DM

You didn't understand his question, I don't think. What do you do with the leftovers after castration? When we were doing pigs we would just throw them over the fence for the 3 dogs waiting for them. Some people eat them, same as bulls...Moutain Oysters and Pearls....:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Excuse me.. There is not much testicle left as we use a burdizzo. It's bloodless and insect problems are avoided. I have done castration with a Buck knife and prefer the sheepsfoot blade or the spey blade on a 307. I know the spey blade on the 334
Millinnium Trapper would work too. DM

If I hadn't jumped out the way I would have got kicked out of the barn by a 400 +-, was steer, then dinner/supper....

I'm sure it's necessary, but I'll sleep fine having never castrated anything (or eaten what some call a delicacy )

My wife was going to kill me at a nice restaurant here in Spokane. I was mooing now and again when they were serving Rocky Mt oysters.i couldn't help it. :D I had to do it.. q

I have eaten them a number of times from bovine. The dogs enjoyed the others. Most of the time my wife is not around
when I do the procedure. My girls have helped me on occasion. It's a good learning experience. DM
