Tecate, somebody's got bacon weaving skills. Those are over the top funny. Thank you for posting these photos. DM

Sir, your landscape box........so your gonna put in some bee friendly shrubs...you got your own hive for honey or are ya gonna try to add a hive?

I got some nasty flowering vines that I really dislike and they are taking over the back yard but I see some local bees are liking them and I want to encourage that.....so I got to either let the vines take over or remove them and plant some bee friendly natives. I know the right decision but I'll likely take the lazy way......:)

I did the cutting with Cabela' Alaskan Guide model 110. When I went to make sure I had the edge ready for cutting I found a few burrs. Those took me quite some time to remove and I could not remove them on a fine diamond stone. So, I had to take it to a strop. Grrr. After making sure the blade was on equal footing the cutting took place. This blade steel began slowing at 35 cuts. More so at 40 & 45. By 50 I stopped. It was not going further. Giving s90v a 55 and the cpm154 at best 3 more. I would have to give s30v 20 less cuts from the other steels. (a 38). Still, it cut nice, I like the coating on the blade. The handle gave a sure grip. A lot to like about this knife. The edge is rolled but not mauled. I'll give you the skinny on bringing the edge back to sharp once I do it. Thanks, gents. DM

jb, I'm going to capture a hive that's living in a hollow oak tree about a mile from our farm. They are not aggressive. My Dad always had bees while we were growing up and showed us boys how to care for them and harvest the honey. We always had
unfiltered honey throughout the year. The honey color and flavor changes with which crop is blooming. Back then in E. Texas farmers grew cotton, peas, melons, tomatoes and clover. We hauled our bees to their fields for the blooming period, loading them at night. DM

I've heard that about the honey flavor and crops. Fascinating, I wonder what honey near a tobacco farm would taste like? Or near a durian fruit tree?

Ok, I sharpened the Alaskan Guide 110 and removed the burrs on the fine diamond stone in 15 mins.. It is now good to go on another cutting test. I used the headset. DM

Interesting. I was hoping s30v would hold own.

There are variables in this test. But I recall doing this same sort of test years back using 3/8" sisal rope as the test medium.
In those tests the cpm154 steel made more cuts on the rope. So, this is consistent with those findings. DM
