Really sorry to hear about your dog. I hope things work out in her favor. We have rattle snakes here and I have killed one every year in our yard since 2004. Have not seen one yet this year, maybe I got them all.
David - Sorry to hear about your dog. I hope and pray she pulls through without any problems. I know how much a dog like this means to their owner. They are much more than just a dog. They are a family member.
My wife was able to bring her home today. Here she is, still swollen and in some discomfort but I think -- glad to be home. Thanks, Buck Fans. DM
The bandage is from the IV and looking just behind her nose the fang marks can still be seen. Still, we are glad to have her back.
Lost, my dog seems to have pulled through the ordeal and I'll take her bird hunting in a week. Then I'll see if the poison affected her sense of smell in any way.
Thanks, Doc. Training a dog is not easy and takes an investment in time. She has turned out very good. Then Life episodes happen. Regardless I'll find a way to move forward. DM
Gedd, we tied most of our rain gutters in to dump into this 1550 gal. water tank. Another section of the roof we tied in to dump into the barrels above. Now, each 1.25" rain we are capturing 1650 gallons of water. Stored to be utilized later for watering or other uses. DM
Tom, you and I have rode over some rocky ground over the years and I don't think I could do such a thing toward you. You've patted my dog and saluted the Colonel. Both were good gestures. DM
David,I'm glad your trusty companion made it through the snake bite, this has been a great thread I enjoyed it very much!the sawbuck is quite a tool,I've seen it used to quarter up a large moose and it worked well!
