Fastest Assisted Openers

If you are talking speed to full open, and not perceived quickenss and kick, the boron chive is about as quick as it gets. It actually opens so fast it is hard to track with the eye as it opens.

Edit to add: Another wicked fast AO is the KO custom Studlock Bump. There is no drag from the lock, it has a low drag blade coating (Ion Bond Black Diamond IIRC) and one of Ken's full tilt, hot rod torsion bars he uses in his customs.

Also, I suspect an assisted Axis would open pretty fast if you pulled back on the lock to relieve the drag as it opened.

hehe kershaw cyclone!

its assist opening, and theres a on/off switch for auto.
I got it shipped in to canada, so I was very pleased with that.. I guess they assumed it was just some regular assisted opening knife.

+1

The Hissatsu is really fast for an AO. Feels like an auto; noticeably faster than the leek imho.

X2 Its fast and fires faster than some autos I've encountered. For one that is not particularly fast=SOG Trident, speed isn't consistent either.

Just tried this with my Mini-Barrage, there doesn't seem to be a noticeable difference, actually. It's wicked fast either way.

I have a Kershaw Leek and a Buck Rush. They both seem to open at about the same speed. However the safety lock on the Rush is easier to unlock than on the Leek. imo
