I was fortunate to get a few of my grandpas knives in really good condition. the remington is almost mint. Small remington, Camillus tl-29 and a colonial forest master. All in great working order (i need to replace the bail on the colonial). I count myself as being lucky.

The man as a boy...

And the whole family..

My father's father died about 60 years ago. My mother's about 55. I have no idea what pocket knives they carried. I might add that they were both in their late 80's when they passed. Born in the days of horse and buggy. Lived into the jet age (barely)

My grandfather on my father's side was born in 1910, and liked Case knives from the beginning. His first one was ordered from the Sears & Roebuck catalog in 1919/1920 (he was in southern AZ at the time). This is one that I inherited when he passed.

I also inherited this Buck

I've got my grandfather's pocket knife. It's a yellow-handled Imperial "fish knife" - toothpick pattern with the secondary scaler blade. Nothing fancy, but he had it all my life, and it's a nice memento for me. I'll have to snap pics to share soon.

He was my hero.

here is a pic the day i bought them for my dad & grandpa

sadly i have them back in my possesion & need to take a pic of my matching tiny trapper all back together again

Not pocket knives but traditional...

My Grandfather's hunting knife. It's a no-name from just after WWII. I have his gun and hunting jacket too.

Going back in time, one of our forefathers had a mill in norther Vt that produced knifes. This would have been from around 1880. Some discussion in the family if they just did the handles and bought the blades from somebody else.

Pinnah, I have a mill knife that looks very much like what you posted, although with a longer blade. I haven't seen another posted on here in quite a while. Mine came out of the old BFGoodrich factory in Akron before it was shut down. Neat stuff!

Here's my grandpa's Schrade (on the left) along with the spear bladed version that I bought to carry. Grandpa's only comes out of the house on special occasions. This was his ONLY pocketknife for approximately 60 years!

Both beautiful knives, how long are they? a full sized serpentine or peanut size?

such wonderful knives and stories. my grandfather carried a knife with a masonry symbol on it. he passed a few years ago and it's still on his table in my grandmother's house. i've wanted to ask about it, but i would hate for it to leave their house while she's still here. he always carried it and was especially handy on christmas when he would gladly cut things when called upon. haha. he's the reason i love traditionals so much. :)

My grandfathers (top) which he gave me when I was a young-un and my dads (bottom)

[/IMG], my mother gave me only recently, he has been gone about 15 years.

The Case stockman next to the leather KSF pouch was my Dad's. I lost him 20 years ago in a car accident. It is still worthy of carrying. But I treat it with care and it rarely leaves the house.
