father and/or grandfather's knife

Here are a few of my grandfather's EDCs. He worked in the oil field in West Texas most of his life. I retired them to a shadowbox in my office bookshelf. I love these old knives with histories. That empire congress is awesome.
From left to right: a Schrade Uncle Henry, the middle one I'm not sure but one blade says Western, the last is a Buck stockman. I'm really not sure of the ages. I have several more of his knives stored, a few old timers. He stopped using them I suppose because the blade were broken, or sharpened heavily like the middle knife shown.

These were my Grandfather's pocket knives. I always remember him using them to cut his fruit everyday. Great memories. I carried the trapper with me when I was going through my testing and processing for the Fire Dept for good luck. (sorry about the poor pics I couldnt get good lighting)

I added named to the pic above. I'm not sure of the years. I use a photobucket account for pictures brother Dave.

I like the way you have them mounted; a great way to keep part of your grandfather. That middle knife looks like he put it to the whetrock a time or two.

How do put up a photo what is a URL

Brother Dave,

Here is a link to a thread that takes you step by step on how to post an image. This link is also known as a URL. A URL is just another way of saying web address. It usually starts with "http://www.namehere.com/morestuff" or something similar. The info in the link explains in some detail how to use it. Best of luck, just click the link and read. :)

Yeah it's funny how a pocket knife can bring back memories. I just remember him telling me as a kid that a man should never be without a good pocket knife. I still live by that today. Actually he got me my first old timer, and also my first 22 LR. A pump action Rossi 22 gallery gun. I made my first kill with that at 6 years old. A rabbit :D I still love that gun.
My father still works in the oilfield, and is never without a pocket knife as well. I should see if he has any to pass on to me :)

My Dad's Case XX Hawkbill he carried when baled hay when I was a kid, he was a farmer and cattle breeder

Here is one(if I have photobucket figured out) next to my mini muskrat for size comparison. The pocketwear and patina on this knife is what has gotten me interested in traditionals. I've pretty much always carried a knife, just usually have plastic handles and stainless so they don't show much wear. Anyway, about the old case, I just don't know much about it. I'm 43 and as long as I can remember, this knife was just always around either in a toolbox or in with the kitchen utensils. It was my dad's, but I don't know where he got it or it's history other than that. But it looks like at some point in time, it was someones well loved edc. From the tang stamp, it's a 1919-1940 CASE. Oh, and I know this knife has not been sharpened in at least 30 years and it is scary sharp. http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s509/jeclowers/caseknife-1.jpg

In your photobucket library, copy the IMG code in the window just below the thumbnail and paste that into your post. That should take care of it.

Here is my Dad's former EDC. This is what I remember him carrying when I was a kid. Now, he carries a 34OT.

And here is one of several knives my Papaw had, but it has special meaning to me, as it is just like one he gave me. It is obvious which was his, and which was mine. :)

Yep! And/or, from a picture's own page within Photobucket, click this link (it should copy automatically, formatted correctly to paste into a message here):

To take it one step further and turn off Photobucket's default addition of pesky URL= formatting, go to your Photobucket User Settings (menu, top right)...

... and under the "Albums" tab, turn off "Link back to albums":

Thanks for sharing these knives.
