Favorite All Around blade?

I recommend a Nicholson bastard file if they're available down under. They're supposed to be the best. Expensive, but worth it if there may be blades in your future in need of choils ground into them.... like they should be....

Nicholson is the main file brand in the main hardware warehouse brand in Au!

It sounds like you place much more importance on the knife being a great chopper, more so than balance or agility. At least to me. It is more important to me for the knife to not be blade-heavy. Which is why my current best chopper is not my favorite blade.

Yes chopper is one thing. Leverage as a wedge is another. Makeshift shovel is another. Machete is another. A small knife is not effective at any of those.

It must be tougher to sell Aussies crap tools than Americans. Seems like most of the hardware type stores in my area choose their stock for low price point. Blacksmith shops on the other hand, stock what they use themselves so they can replace a worn out tool immediately, right off the shelf, and get back to work.

You'll get no argument from me on any of those!

My favorite busse is my satin TG. It is sharp enough to cut sashimi, and tough enough to easily chop through wood and peirce coins.
