Favorite axis lock knife?

I like the 940 and 730 the best! Both are real smooth! GOOD LUCK! Kevin

The HK 14210 is actually a really nice knife. Full weight-reduction-drilled steel liners, full G10 scales, satin finish blade. And the Axis lock is actually set up so that it pushes the blade out from the handle when you pull back on it.

Favorite full size is the AFCK
Favorite intermediate size was the 520
Favorite small is the 707.705

I have a 710 in D2. While D2 is a little harder to sharpen than S30V or 154CM, it's worth the extra effort. The edge seems to last twice as long as the others. By the way, I use a Lansky extra fine ceramic stone to maintain the edge.

If I had a 610 that would be it, dreamy knife.

As is, my 14255 is sweet, the handle on that thing is amazingly well designed.

710D2 and Rukus in Partially serrated and coated steel.

However I also like my Cold Steel AK47 in aluminium handles and Recon 1s. They have the ultra-lock which is basically the Axis lock. Interesting to note that the Cols Steel's version has the blade steel completely enclosing the lock mechanism instead of the Axis Lock and Arc Locks which the blade is not enclosing the lock. In terms of lock strength it is possible that the Ultra lock is stronger since it is the addition of the existing Axis lock with extra steel enclosing which under load the enclosing steel will carry some load...

Just wanna mention. :)

Griptillian 555. An extreme beater. 154cm blade that will take a lot of hard work and still stay very sharp.

Benchmade 420, the Resistor.
Best execution of the AXIS lock EVER as far as I'm concerned; keeps blade closed nicely, and locks up the most solid of ANY Axis lock I've handled.
It's discontinued, but if you can find one, BUY IT!!!
It has a great blade shape too, and cuts/slices really well. Nice and sturdy too--no worries of breakage with this knife!

730 Ares, rock solid lock up, fast on the draw and a great utility blade.

What was the first Axis lock?
