Favorite Beers!

Hi markisharp -

I have always been partial to Guiness Stout, and Sam Adams makes a good Cream Stout.

For lighter bodied beers, I like a Dab or Bass.

I'll drink anything if you brought it. :D

best regards -

My favorite beer is the next one:D My regular is Natural Light when budget calls but my go to beer(s) are Corona Extra, Schlafly Hefeweizen or Boulevard Wheat.

The darker it is the better it is. Not Guinness though - it is way overused. Preferably, stuff from microbreweries, we have lots of that in Vancouver. So local porter and stout - all the way. Although local white unfiltered is good too, esp. during warm days.

Had 2 just the other day! Mmmmm

I like that first part! Great Lakes make a good anything....haven't had one I don't like from them. Sam Adams is good, I used to drink Killian's Irish Red (for years it was my fav), now I switch around--we have a local made by Grain Belt called Nordeast, named after the goofy way Northeast Minneapolis is referred to. Damn fine beer. Blue Moon with orange slice, Corona with a lime slice, Leinie's Honeyweiss with lemon slice.

Oh and here's one for you: mix 1/2 Honeyweiss with 1/2 Berryweiss to create a Honeybear! Refreshing on a hot summer day--believe it! Goes down like flippin' Kool-Aid!!!!!

I keep a keg of Dos Equis Special Lager in the kegerator.

I am quite fond of Schneiderweiss. It is probably my favorite beer of all time. I also enjoy Chimay, Blvd Wheat, Stout, and Porter, and Most sam adams beers. Just had my first BUsch beer about 3 weeks ago... IMO not bad... especially for cheap grocery store beer....

I'm an IPA fan. Currently, I am enjoying Cigar City Brewing Jai Alai. Love the Dogfish 120, but can't afford them too often. For something lighter, Lagunitas pilsner.

I don't know if I have a "favorite" but I drink a lot of Guinness and it is my "go to" beer when out. I've enjoyed everything I have tried from Lagunitas, big brews with some interesting flavor profiles. I also love Old Fezziwig Ale from Sam, it only comes in their Holiday Sampler pack and I look forward to it every year.

If there "can be only one" I think I would pick the Scotch Ale made by my homebrewing friend Gordy. Any beer that inspires the observation "the first two are absolutely delicious but the third one tastes a lot like carpet" has to be high on my list!

I must say those on this forum have awesome taste in beer. I really enjoy stouts and porters and over the last few years, I've come to enjoy the "bourbon barrel-aged beers". A few of my favorite stouts are:

Hoppin' Frog Barrel Aged BORIS (Ohio)
Thirsty Dog Siberian Night (Ohio)
North Coast "Old Rasputin" (California)
Williamsburg Cafe Royal (Virginia)

Beer one of my favorite subject. Just tried a 10% alcohol beer by Boulevard Brewing called The Sixth Glass. It was exceptional. Full bodied, good head but doesn't knock you over with pure alcohol taste.

I also am fond of Chimay (blue) label. Good beer but not cheap.

I am also fond of Flying Dog Raging Bitch, 90 and 120 minutes by Dogfish Head, Gordon Biersch Hefe and Harpoon Leviathan IPA and Barely wine.

If I'm broke I'm pissed because I can't think of a cheap adjunct lager offhand that I care for too much. I can handle Shiner Bock okay but much prefer more complex beers.

This one is a winner for sure to me!!

If you like Boulevard, try the "Tank 7" -- it's a Belgian farmhouse style and will cross your eyes if you're not careful, but pretty tasty.

Bells Pale Ale kalamzoo Michigan. There entire line is amazing.

I have seen that one at the place I go and almost grabbed it. Now I will.

Anything buy Oskar Blues. Best beer in cans. Many have 10% abv.

Damn the one named Gubna has 100 IBU's. Bet that will lock up your jaws. I have seen their beers too but just dismissed them because I prefer beer in a bottle. Might have to rethink that one.

Guinness
Negra Modelo (in the fridge now)
Sam Adams Boston Lager (probably my favorite)
Carlsburg
Leinenkugel Honey Weiss
Killians Irish Red

"Normal" beers (as my no taste friend call them)

Anything Miller. Budweiser Select is not bad either.

Bud and Bud Lite suck ass, IMO.

I have not had a beer or a drink for 28 years, I don,t think I will start now :)

I probably haven't drank an entire case in the last two years. But I know what I like when I do drink them. :D

When in England I found I really liked Newcastle. (I like Strongbow a lot also, but it's a hard cider).

Stateside I like pretty much anything by Berghoff. I also like Shipyard (Portland, ME) and Fat Tire (Colorado, I believe). I liked Goose Islands' Summer Ale when I lived just outside Chicago. Shiner Bock is good.

Is Prairie Rock still around? They had some decent beers as well.
