Favorite cheap folder - under $50

the preferences seem to be leaning toward the tactical mode..I have a Case Copperlock, the cheap yellow handled one, with the carbon steel(not stainless)blades that does me fine! It could stand to be a bit thicker though. Actually, drop the lock blade requirement, and I can say that the very best pocket knife I have ever had, used and worn out was a German Eye Brand"sodbuster" It was a greased lazer as long as you kept it tpuched up on a slick stone or butcher's steel. I carried it for 12 years.

I've got to go with The Calyspo liteweight. This is one sweet knife for that price, extra sharp and easy to resharpen plus thclip location is excellent.

I like the Ascent 830. I carry it everywhere I go. I have an Endura too, but I like the way the 830 rides lower in my pocket.

I was asking about a carbon steel lockblades a short while back and someone noted that Eye Brand has a lockblade sodbuster in carbon steel, a model that along with one of their large stockmans is on my long list.

Hen & Rooster and Kissing Crane, and Boker Arbolito all make "Sodbuster" type knives too. I'd love to put together a collection of just this style. the only one that is high priced is the Hen & Rooster. And of course there is the Case yellow handled Sodbuster that is carbon steel.

Just got a Spyderco Calypso lightweight Jr. in VG10 yesterday.
DO check one of these rascals out before you buy anything! This is the sharpest knife out of the box that I've ever encountered.
It's an under $50.00 folder that is "all that"!
Took it to work today and it cut thru cardboard and rope like a laser!
A great work blade...GET ONE!
