Favorite childhood toy

But is the new Sonic Blaster any actual "fun"? Can you knock stuff over w/ it?

He was shooting us all in the face with it. We'd been running around playing with the kids and got hot, and everybody wanted to feel a blast of air in the face. I guess the original was more powerful....

The Dirt Pile. No sandbox or sand for that matter.

Building an ever growing Tree House from scrap lumber.

Bicycles in the summer, sleds in the winter.

The Creek and the Mountain and chasing and catching Wildlife, all year round.

Playing in the Barns.

As like others, Guns and Knives at an early age.

My 1st pistol was a Beretta 92F
I wonder if the toy subconsiously helped me pick the 92F?

My trusty Crosman 760

I loaned it to my brother in law about 10 years ago so he could exterminate gophers
I asked him if I could get it back last year
I wanted to "refurbish" it
He said he THREW IT AWAY!!!!:grumpy:

My beloved Canyon Sky Cycle
My mom sold it at one of her garage sales
I think they are bank now on EBAY

Trent,
You are killing me. My two was Crossman .177 pellet rifle, and Evil Kneivel stunt motorcycle. Stop freaking me out man. I bought a Daisy Pellet rifle at an antique store less than a year ago. My kids and I take target practice from the kitchen counter out to the backyard. Reliving the dream.

Verti-Bird copter was my all-time favorite. Man I had fun with that.

And I would play for hrs with Micronauts, Matchbox cars, Tyco race car tracks, the pull-strip cars and vans that would crash into each other (can't remember their name), and Colorforms play scenes with the vinyl labels and pre-drawn scenes.

I had various play sets like Planet of the Apes, and a dinosaur/caveman one (I know- an anachronism).

I also used to love microscopes and army men.

Oh yeah, I used to love those water rockets. And Gala kites. And balsa wood or foam gliders.

Such incredibly cool toys before the electronics industry took over chillins' imaginations and turned them to mash.

I grew up in the 80's and I remember hotwheels, transformers and m.u.s.c.l.e. men as toys I liked.

Also liked playing with knives, being in the outdoors/camping and ofcourse collecting baseball cards (a huge collection). I grew up in northern New Jersey.

No, I am not!!! I was raised in a single parent household. My Mom was a waitress.

I stand corrected. By the way, I have much enjoyed seeing your collection. How's the Krammes Cricket working out? I hope to get one some day. And, wasn't it you that had the Caledonian?

Man, You guys are making me remember lots of stuff I had and loved: G.I. Joe, Army men, Evel Kneivel, I had a purple "Chopper" trike, and a PULSAR Figure. Anyone remember those? You pushed on an air bladder which filled his "lungs" and circulated his "blood". Oh yeah, The Six Million Dollar Man figure, too - "Bionic" vision in that one. And, the Hulk. It was a cool time.

Oooooh, I had an Evil Kneivel!!! It had that ramp to launch the motorcycle. Yeah, I had a PULSAR figure as well. And The Six Million Dollar Man!!!

I have to say, that my generation was the first of hand held electronic games. Towards the end of the 70s there came out with a hand held football game, and a pole position game. I played the football one til my fingers bled. They were blips on a screen with 3 lanes horizontal, up middle and down if my memory serves me right. I cannot remember the name of it, but I think I may still have the button impressions on my mid forties fingers.

i had all the original masters of the universe toys, castles and vehicles included. i even had a "life-size" inflatable battlecat.

when i was 3, my grandma got me a hatchet... gonna have to get that one back from my dad. still have bits and pieces of the he-man stuff in the attic.

Anybody remember the Hoomdorm?

I liked army men, I had the tanks and forts and everything.

As for playing outside, we mostly just played war and threw crap at each other until someone got mad and went home. Then we'd make fun of him until he came back out and the entire process would start all over again.

Then in the forth grade I got into video games for a long while, then stopped playing them about sophmore year in high school when I realized what a shut in loser I had become; although I will confess to the occasional game of WWII Combat Flight Simulator.

I always liked Cootie where you made the bugs when I was young, and for HIGH Tec I had an Etch a Sketch, also had the Man From Uncle Radio gun.

I'll post two, a cheap one and one of the very few expensive toys I ever got:

1. My Johnny Eagle Magumba big game hunter rifle

2. Simple balsa wood glider

my assortments of sticks that i used to fend off the trash i encountered in the various west tex. cities in which we moved about.
