My kids were asking me about this a couple of weeks ago. For me it has to be the 1968 Chevelle SS!

Such amazing lines in this design! Very Knife-inspired!

Mine had the 327 Small Block V-8 that I had dyno-tested at over 400 HP after the rebuild. It had a B&M 400 Turbo Transmission that wound into a 12 Bolt Posi rear end with a 454 Gear! (Way too much gear for daily driving)

The only differences between the '68 and the '69 Cevelles were the shape of the rear lights, no center bar on the front grill, and the most important design feature ever. . . Front Wing Windows!

Those front wing windows provided the '68 Chevelle with 6-70 airconditioning!!! (6 Windows down at 70 miles an hour! 😁 ).

My brother Dan and I built this puppy on our own. His fave car was a '63 Impala Convertible with a 283 V-8. It wasn't fast but it purred when you drove it!

I was definitely a small-block V-8 guy. Many of my friends thought small blocks were simply meant to be used as starting motors!!!

Let's Drink!

I was a wee kid during the muscle car era, but I remember my Dad's 68 Toronado and I REALLY remember the night my big brother took it out and threw all the belts-- after my Dad told him not be be showing off or racing! We still talk about that one haha.

My best friend in H.S. had an 84 Hurst Olds with the lightning rods. Every stop light seemed like some buster wanted to go. Pull out the T-tops and everyone wanted to cruise a lap or two around the mall on Sat. Nite. He could have sold tickets. Good times!

A buddy of mine had a 426 Hemi Challenger. When I met up with him to check it out for the first time, we were in a huge parking lot and I commented on the fact that he had monster wheelie bars sticking out of the back and just a few inches from hitting the pavement. I told him, quite smugly, that nobody was going to believe for a second that his car needed those to operate. He told me to jump in and go for a test ride. Like an idiot, I did. He proceeded to slam it to the floor and the next thing I knew, I was looking straight up at the lights in the huge parking lot and couldn't see anything but sky!!!

He then laid off of the pedal, and when the car settled back to 4 on the ground, I rolled out and kissed the ground we were parked on!

I swore to him that that was the last time I was ever getting that close to a 426 Hemi!!!

No way I can pick just one! Mainly a GM guy, but love Mustangs, Challengers, Cudas, and Chargers too.

Had a 70 Olds 442 with a 455, a 73 Vette L82, and a 72 Cutlass convertible with a 350.

If I had to pick just one, probably a 69 Yenko Camaro. But it would be way too valuable to drive!

High school friends had some great cars. One '68 Chevelle had a 396 dropped in the front. It was so tight that the battery was in the trunk. Cops suggested a drag chute on one memorable traffic stop.

Another drove a Fiat Spyder with a V8 and racing suspension. Friends and I toured around on many a weekend in a blue Z-28 with a 350 five-speed. It was my buddy's sister's bf who owned the car.

Next door neighbour's daughter was dating a guy with a 1968 Rally Sport convertible with a five-speed. Good times and good memories.
