Favorite Coffee Mug and Traditional Knife

None taken although as an Australian I should add that nothing annoys us more than New Zealand ....except....being of British heritage.
We hate all minorities equally especially Poms and Seppos .
So in order to repair the damage to International relations I have created a coffee/tea/ herbal infusion tryptich of mugs with with all the diplomatic sensitivity of the blitz...

Note the proud Union Jack , Oscar de la Grouch Americas most beloved statesman in Australia and of course an image of what an American looks like as imagined by a British artist.
That's EXACTLY what Americans look like (at least, here in Texas)!

Those old heavy diner mugs were probably made by Buffalo China. I have four mugs and four cereal bowls. My mugs only hold 7 ounces, but they are durable for sure.

I'm away from home for several days, so I can't take a good pic of my most-used mug. But here's an old photo that shows a bird's eye view of it :rolleyes:.

(The lambsfoot came on vacation with me, but the mug did not. That probably says something about priorities.)

The grandkids have always called me "Papa Bear"... probably to distinguish me from their other grandfather (the nice one), who happens to be my best friend. So this is my favorite mug mostly for sentimental reasons but also because it's color helps in getting the optimal cream to coffee ratio. ;):):D

Nice morning pic Mark. :thumbsup::)
Thanks Dave! I'm always looking forward to a fresh cup of coffee on saturday morning at the end of the working week. It sure tastes a lot better than the machine coffee at work. And now were on holiday there's good coffee every day :cool::thumbsup:

Damn! Ha ha!:) I like it but it looks like the size of an URN or VASE :eek::D You must have a formidable thirst :D Great knife that too, but don't submerge it....

Ha! Thanks! The "urn" is substantial, but it holds a variety of beverages--coffee, tea, and water. The angle doesn't help much, either. Like all hummingbirds, this one just likes to sip, and prefers not to guzzle (so far, anyway!).

One of my colleagues developed a reputation for drinking from large cups. One day a student actually gave him a vase to drink from. And he did drink from it, all day!

I don't actually like mugs....inherited that prejudice from my Ma:D Has to be a CUP larger the better..gets complaints from people that there's no tea or coffee for others....;) Somebody even said my cup was the size of a Chamber Pot....well I do have an antique one from the grandparents but I think I'll refrain from trying drinks out of it!:eek:
