Hi,

I'm actually looking around for that "perfect" EDC knife and have really taken a liking to the Spydercos. I currently only have a Delica and an Endura, but am looking for something a bit larger that is still legal.

Im also leaning toward a serrated blade, but am not set. I could just as easily get a combo blade or straight edge blade.

Any suggestions? I love the Police, but I have to check out the legality of it here in Oregon because the blade is over 4". I've been also looking at the Sage and Sage 2.

I appreciate any input, thank you!

If you want something bigger than the Endura which has a 3 3/4" blade then the Military seems like the logical choice. The Military has a 4" blade. It's a great knife, but I don't know about the legality of it where you live.

The Sage 1 & 2 are also really great knives, but they're about the same size as the Delica.

You could also consider the Para-Military or the Stretch.

I think the Military comes in just under 4". It is one of the all time best Spydercos, everyone should try one at least once.

Had to add, the Military also makes a great EDC, although it is big, it carries well because it is very slim. I keep mine in my back right pocket, and don't even notice until I need it.

I really like the Stretch II(CF/ZDP).Great ergos,carries well,mid-lock,flat grind slices very well.

well if Military to big , get Paramilitary !!! great small knife with amazing lock.

While it is not exactly bigger than the Endura, eyeryone that likes Spyderco just HAS to own an FRN Stretch. For EDC, the combo edge is hard to beat. And it's still pretty affordable to boot.

My advice: get yourelf one of them. C90PSBK. It rocks.
And after all, the Stretch pattern is Sal's favourite for a reason...

In the past I have always enjoyed my Centofante. It has VG-10 steel, nice thin blade, lightweight. The only thing I haven't liked about it is the lock. It's a good lock (backlock), it's just that this type of lock gives the blade a fair amount of resistance when it is opened. It's a very good EDC knife, however.

Recently I picked up a Gayle Bradley, and it has replaced the Centofante as my Spyderco EDC. This knife is a bit more upscale, costing about twice what the Centofante did. It's a liner lock, however, which makes the blade deployment much smoother. This is also a more robust knife, heavier, with SS liners and a blade using M4 steel.

Both very useful knives!

"perfect" EDC knife" IMO it's the Stretch, as the fellas above mentioned.
It's light weight thin and a 3.5" blade.
Not too big, not too small, just right=Perfect :p

I don't mind medium heavy EDC's so I really like the new Bradley but it may be more hard use than needed for EDC. That said, I have been enjoying the Sages a lot.

I have been carrying the G-10 Endura lately. I find the foliage green color to be quite boring but this knife is too practical a cutting package to be ignored.

Although I would prefer neon green to foliage it's only a matter of personal preference.

My Favorite EDC Spydercos are UKPK and Caly3. I have never been a fan of big knives because I live in the city and would have no need for a large knife. They may actually be more harm than good in my case due to local laws and a sub 3" blade has always been enough.

The two that I find climbing into my pocket the most are the BG-42 Millie and the Gayle Bradley. Both are exceptional knives.

I carry a SALT full SE its great, though recently I have been thinking of selling it because I have a few others that go in the rotation.

My EDC rotates every few days. I'll grab whichever one I feel like carrying that day. In the group are the Military BG-42, Manix 2 CF S90V, CF Harpy PE, CF Delica PE, P-Kal, Sage, Chinese Lum, CF Native 4, several variations of the Kopa, Cricket and sometimes a PE Executive. Yes, you read that right, a PE Executive. Currently, it's the Manix 2 CF S90V as I want to carry a tank knife for a while.

Before I became fed-up with liner locks, I carried a Military often. The Military is a great design and most useful in the EDC capacity. Just keep an eye on lock-up and don't assume. The Military has one of the better liner-locks IMO.

I carry an UKPK for "office" carry, but I find the blade a bit short. The UKPK doesn't lock, but one can deal with that.

I have had a P'Kal in the EDC rotation of late and I like it. Just make sure the blade shape is in line with your use.

I had thought a Gayle Bradley model would be a potential EDC as the liner-lock appears stout, but the knife is butt heavy IMO. Great craftsmanship, BTW, and M4 is a great steel IMO. If you like a butt-heavy feel (sorta slip-joint in a way), give this model a try. M4 steel is a great reason to try this model and in my limited use the blade is great for EDC.

I am wondering on the Manix 2. I have 154cm and S90V versions. I like the knife in S90V as it balances better, while the 154cm version is iffy for EDC IMO. Still, I like the CBL at this time.

I don't like traditional back-locks - but that is just me.
