Favorite EDC Spyderco?

Without a doubt, for me it's tha paramilitary. Right now it's my newest one, which is the digicam with black blade.

The para doesn't feel big like the millie, it has a great lock, and it's fairly light. If you've got really big hands, some find it uncomfortable.

Lately it's been a toss-up between a Delica 4 and an Urban.

But...I have a Sage II coming so we'll see....

The GB and the Stretch sure look like they got what I like.

The damn budget's holding me back...or more specifically the family CFO. :D

Sage 1 for me, but I tend to shy away from the bigger folders. I like 'em light.

Those dang CFO's always getting in the way of a boys fun, with the Budget! :grumpy:
Heck, I would just eat noodles all month, just to get that one knife, women just don't get it ;)

My favorite EDCs are Persians large and small, also VG10/ G10 Caly3.
3.5" blade on Persian is great, but when I travel across state lines 3" blade of Caly or Lil Persian are more acceptable.

Sage 1, because of near-perfect size, liner lock, simple, elegant design and light weight.

I'll give it a 4.5 out of 5. What would make it a 5.0 would be removing the blade choil, and extending the cutting edge all the way to the handle.

I would like to see the choil be moved back to the handle. Just curious DSMEGST, what do you think about the handle/choil layout on the Sage 1?

The Native s30v still holds the reigns as my favorite. Was my first, and still gets a ton of carry time. Very comfortable to carry, no matter what I'm wearing, great ergonomics for my hands for a smaller knife, great blade steel, and affordable.

But you mentioned bigger than the endura and I can't help you there :D

Weekday office carry is a Caly 3. New weekend carry is a D2 para. Lovin it!!!!!!! Took me a long time to warm up to the compression lock but the Para 2 is great. Could not pass up the D2 to go with my D2 Mili! I suspect the Para will see more pocket time due to the handy size though.

Mine is the Stretch. Fits nicely in my back pocket, feels great in my hand, slices like a demon, and, aside from one day where anything smaller than a machete would have been "too small", I've never felt under equipped when using it.

I think the perfect one-knife-does-it-all for EDC would be the FRN Stretch II. With that said, my favorite knife of all, and the one that gets the most EDC time and use by me is the Military.

I really like the idea of a finger choil in general and I find that I use it often. I've gotten so used the layout of the Sage that I'm quite comfortable with it.

But even so, I do understand what you mean by freeing up more of the blade for a longer cutting edge. If somehow the finger choil was moved back 1/2 inch, that would work well too.

In my mind, it would look something like the Tenacious with an additional bump in between the index and middle finger. The only question I have with this layout is how the liner lock would be integrated into the more complicated shape. Maybe a compression lock would work better than a liner lock.

Just curious, do you ever get the feeling that the cutting edge on the Sage design is too short? At least in my use, I haven't run into this problem.

I rotate between these 5,

currently the Caly 3 is in my pocket.
