• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Favorite "Entry Level" Manufacturer

I have and love the Spyde Native but for cut for the buck it is Opinel and Helle.

Spyderco makes my favorite "entry level" knives. Although they are not designer knives like CKRT, knives like the Native, Delica, and Calypso Jr. Lt. Wt. have superior blade steel, tight lock up, and are durable. To me, this means more than the fact they some one famous designed them. I'm not knocking CKRT, I just prefer ATS-55, VG-10, and CPM 440V to AUS 6.

Like everyone said before, my vote goes to Spyderco and CRKT. CRKT IMO has a bit better value in terms of bang for buck than Spyderco does. I especially like the fact that Spyderco offers one of the largest variety of blade and handle materials varying from Aus-8a -440V and Zytel to Carbon Fiber.

Haven't had the chance to handle those CRKT's custom collaboration pieces or some of Ontario's knives, though. They sure look interesting...

The CRKT KFF is hard to beat, but for a great selection at reasonable prices SPYDERCO ROCKS!

Yeah! You tell 'em, Flood!

I too would like to see more manufacturers get away from that tiresome bead-blast finish. Who cares about low-reflection? Mirror finish, or at least satin, please!

For now, try some Flitz polish on that bead blade finish Flood. I tried it on a CRKT and it gives it a nice shine. I think it inhibits oxidation too.

Flitz, rocks!

Thanks for the tip, Full Tang Clan. Just recently I was searching the threads for some good rust-removers, and among the myriad of options I found Flitz mentioned favorably a few times. I was meaning to go buy a product to handle those KFFs. I guess Flitz will be it!
