Hey everyone since i missed blade show this year I'm treating myself to a new knife. I am looking for a american made, titanium frame lock flipper around 300-499$. I would prefer it to come with steel lock insert and possibly a milled clip. So far ive been looking at the microtech sigil, some used midtechs, ferrum forge stuff. Lemmi know what you guys would recommend or are looking at. All input is much appreciated. cheers!

After this weekend... ZT0055 and it isn't even remotely close.
Its still looks super sexy. Love me a good zt. Let me know how you like that spring loaded flipper. If it good i might have to pick on up on another occasion.

Anything from Ferrum Forge is a winner imo haha

Also take a look at any blade/collab that Millit Knives put out, they're doing great things!

Millit looks intriguing. I had not heard of them before now. thanks.

The SLT is Awesome. I was not able to put it down. It cycles so fast. There's no tab to hit your thumb and the cutout for the lock bar is far enough back that there's no danger of catching your thumb on closing. Right hand, left hand, thumbs, all flip perfectly.

I mean this with no hyperbole, as someone who owns a custom RJ Martin, the 0055 is by far my favorite flipper.

ZT already had the best production flippers and the SLT takes it to another level.

Glad you like it so much. I might have to pick one up eventually...;)

I like my Olamic Wayfarer 247

+1 for the Wayfarer 247. Awesome F&F, great design and rides well in pocket.

Totally different knife, but I'm in love with my new Hinderer MP1, too.

I recommend the Olamic 247. It's one of the best flippers made in this price range, head and shoulders above anything else from ZT. You can get a plain 247 within your budget or spend a few more $ and get something truly unique to your design wishes.

You might consider some of the offerings from WE Knives. They're at the lower end of your budget ($220) with fit and finish that generally beats the best Spydercos and ZTs. What WE offers in a production flipper knife at the price point is really a little amazing. There are so many styles of WE flippers in your price range, you need to look at what pushes your buttons and come back with questions about specific models. With WE, however, you'll have to get over the hardware and some funky color options.

You can't go wrong with a ZT flipper. Although they're no longer the best at their price point, they're still solid knives from a great company. What you get with ZT is a good knife backed by one of the best companies in the industry with USA made cred. There's something to be said for that comfort factor.

Avoid Spyderco flippers, they're just a giant step behind the better flippers in the business at this time. Spyderco does so much right in the knife world...unfortunately flippers aren't one of them.

Rike, Reate, Ferrum Forge are all some great flippers that fall within your budget. Of course, with Reate you're including Liong Mah and Todd Begg production knives.

I know LionSteel keeps winning all these awards and I keep buying them and wondering why someone honestly thought they were that great. YMMMV. Did we actually think a knife with a plastic handle that went all camo in your hand was all the sauce?

Have fun! This is a great time to look for a ~$400 Ti framelock flipper because there are some really great offerings out there.

My favorite is the Ferrum Forge Fortis, I found one for 325. LNIB, awesome deal! The Ferrum Forge Archbishop is great too! Another really good one is Calavera Cutlery large El Patron in PD1, found one of those for 400.

My collection is fairly small, but it's definitely my ZT 0452CF. Running it dry, it's still very smooth, but flipping it after it's been freshly cleaned and oiled...it's just ridiculous.

out of the many flippers I have had and held I would have to say the guardian tactical helix nano in cf just feels right and the action is sooo smooth and fast. That probably why its the favorite of the ones I still have.
