Here is a site that has some info... I'm not sure what kind of info are you looking for.

Good luck

Thanks for the link. I guess I'm looking for more of a review on it, in terms of how it compares to other fixed blades like one of the RAT's, Fallkniven, etc. Maybe I'll suggest it to one of the youtube guys, as to I'm pretty new to knives and because I have not handled any other fixed blades besides a RAT 3.

I'm quite fond of the Warthog. It's almost in a class of it's own.

Only have one Kabar, and just got it last week. But it is one I definately like, and one I have yet to see mentioned. The knife I am referring to is the Bull Dozier.

Has anyone used he short Kabars with Kydex sheaths? I was wondering if it will be a good back packing knife to take on the not too far exursions like a hike.

I have a kabar hunter i have had for at least 12 years it was given to me by my uncle wheen i was a kid.I just ordered a kabar short bowie it should be here monday or tuesday. I cant wait to take it out in the woods.:D

I've got both FIN, the folder wich I like alot although it take's a while to get use to it...but the fixed blade I have a hard time with it. It looks nice and feels nice for a combat knife I guess but for bushcraft it's crap. The handle is not comfortable at all, it can't chop, it get's very sharp though. Still it's well built with a nice sheath and it's fun to fool around with it. If I had the chance to tried it before I got it from the web I would 'nt got it...hope this helps!!!

I have a Ka-bar stockman I've had since about 1980. I also have a Ka-Bar hunting knife that looks much like the USMC knife except the blade is about 6", stainless steel, and the pommel is aluminum. I got it back about 1981. I also have a USMC Ka-Bar.

Fixed: Good ole Kabar USMC for me too.

Folder: The Kabar Dozier series. I have the spear point one. Awesome knives for $18 +/-.

What's wrong with the Ka-bar Fighter 1271?!

Don't hear many talk about that one.

My first Kabar was a Ka-bar USA Serrated Fighting Knife w/Kydex Sheath
Model KA1214 and like it a lot.

I also like the 1271 and have it on my to buy list for my next knife order that I keep next to my computer.

Hey, Treg, it looks like the FIN is better suited for the many small jobs a knife of that size would do around the campsite. What is your definition of bush knife? I would think the larger knives would be better for the harder job, like splitting logs or taking down saplings for shelter, etc. If anything, it gives us a excuse to to buy more than one knife for using.

My Rc-4 is smaller than the FIN and it's a better chopper, it's better at everything compare to the FIN...that's an example of a bushcraft knife but there's a lot of others, Fallkniven A2, BlackJack Grunt, SY Yard Keeper, Dumpster Mutt, RC-6, TOPS Outpost Command and it goes an on...those are personal choices btw. Cheers!!!

Treg, thank for the imput, I guess it does go down to personal choices and what works best for each. Enjoy that RC4, I have been thinking about finding one.

I've got a Ka Bar D2 Combat Knife.

Seems nice, but I've never done anything with it other than slice paper to test the edge and then put it away. I liked the idea of having a fixed blade but never had the occasion to use it.

Is this knife discontinued? I can't find it on the Ka-bar website.

I really really like the looks of this knife, it doesn't have the traditional Ka-bar handle which I find extremely ugly.
