Shooters I've appreciated lately:
Half Life series
Far Cry
Resident Evil 4
Deus Ex

The level of polish on the HL games is astounding. Creative storytelling, personable characters, and excellent level design make them a joy to play. RE4 was excellent too, once I got into it I couldn't put down the controller until I beat the game. Gonna have to do all the bonus missions eventually too.

Not really sure what I liked so much about Far Cry, but it was loads of fun. The expansive environments might have something to do with it.
Been wanting to get my hands on COD4 and Halo 3, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Yes it's a Ka-bar next gen on steroids.I love Turok ! and the new demo gives me that same old feeling of playing it again. He carried a nice Bowie in the first one.

Cant believe no one has mentioned VIETCONG fist alpha, a bit old now but in my opinion the best multiplayer first person shooter out there. My comp can't run the highly recommended COD4 but I hear it doesn't have any realistic jungle warfare like VC. Nothing beats stealthily crawling around in the bushes and streams...

Just passed gears of war on hardcore mode, starting it tonight on insane mode :) Only got the game a few days ago :P
