Like the title says, what's your favorite knife/knives around $75? Folder or fixed blade. Unfortunately I'm just looking on Amazon because I have a gift card to spend so that will limit my options somewhat. I have a Kizer Begleiter already around that price point but I'm open to pretty much anything else. I've been looking and looking and haven't been able to narrow it down much so I figured I'd seek out some recommendations. Thanks.

Spyderco Delica 4. Just a fantastic EDC in about every respect.

That's definitely one on my short list. Out of all my knives I haven't put a Spyderco in my collection yet but I'm not really a big fan of the look of the Delica 4. I really like the flush look of the Efficient but would like to push the money a little further for a better steel so I may give the Delica 4 a shot.

It's especially worth giving a Delica a try if you can do it courtesy of a gift card. Pretty easy to resell if you hate it.

Buck 112 Slim Pro.
The aforementioned Delica.
SK Blades Shield and Smokejumper, although they're only $40 and you can't get them through Amazon.

Cold Steel American Lawman. You can find one easily around $75, sometimes lower. S35VN, strong lock, very slim and edc friendly. It’s like the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, cheaper and better IMO.

Becker BK16 is a great hip knife. Great warranty too.

Hmmm. Didn't think about that one. I was looking at the Tops Wolf Pup or maybe an Izula but I already have an Esee 4 so I dunno.

Forgot about Buck. I'll have to check into that also.

My favorite in that range is the Tasman Salt.

I am with you on that. A few years ago I bought the Lawman in the old cryo 8Cr "something" after a glowing review of the knife here on BF from a knife maker. What a knife. It is about indestructible, easy to carry, and with it hollow grind slices well out of its league. I like it enough I am thinking of giving the old one to my nephew, and getting the new one for the S35 steel.

The Saleh knife is less common, but a quality choice.
The curve of the spine is similar to Al Mars, the choil and a half design let's you choke up, and the N690Co steel is quality.

Spydercos look funny, until you hold and use one.

Haha, this. I actually think many spydercos are ugly, so I only own about 6... replacing most of my other EDC options because they're just such a pleasure to use.

OP, I prefer the native LW over the delica and I think the LW models are around the price point.

The begleiter is a great knife and if I had that price limit, I would still have one. I consider it a poor man's 940, and the 940 is barely better, IMO.

But, favorite $75 knife? Honestly, probably a slipjoint of some kind. I really like the maserin plow from collectorknives, or a case moose. I also really like the spyderco UKPK. Similar to a delica but better if you like finger choils and getting the finger snugged up to the blade. I think a buck sprint select would be pretty solid as well, but I have the pro version with the better steel but the more basic 420HC is still very serviceable.

The cold steel golden eye is still on sale on the Lynn Thompson special projects website, great knife and really like the blade profile. It's a bit big for my laws where I work but it goes hiking and used around the house a lot. Big fan, it's like a lawman but better, IMO.

On the fixed blade side, I really like the buck 119 in that price point. Or really, any of the classic fixed blade line with handles over 4". I think the kabar mark II and Mark I are also worth a look for the medium to large sized blades. If you can find a CRKT hunt n' Fischer on sale, also a nice knife in the EDC size range.

+1 on the American Lawman, great knife.

Or you could get a Buck 110 or 112 "and" the Buck Canoe knife. Great combo that you could easily carry for a lifetime and pass down later.

You might also consider throwing $25 or $50 of your own money on top of the $75 gift, it would open up a lot of good options to consider.

Kershaw Bareknuckle. I put it up there with my ZT knives, just with cheaper materials. The 14c28n steel works well and gets super sharp, kvt bearings make it fun to flip, and very smooth action. It has its flaws, but nothing that would keep me from buying another if I lost mine. I carry it quite a bit.

I also used to think Spydies were pretty hideous compared to more traditional knives until I got an Endura. It's a lotta knife for the size and $$, carries smaller than it's open size but you can do a lot w/that bigger blade vs the Delica which I also have. Just an overall 'good' knife, the VG-10 on the basic model works just fine too. Only drawback is that neither are what I would call heavy users. Go with something Cold Steel for chopping, batoning or bearing into something heavy.

Some good ones mentioned. I would add:

The Buck 119 or the Buck Selkirk. Good pieces from a good company.

The Kershaw Link and Dividend are good ones. I like Kershaw, they've always treated me right.

If I was to pick a Spyderco, I'd grab a Centofante 3, or Delica or Dragonfly. All are great.

A couple I really like in this range are the KaBar USMC and the Cold Steel Ti-Lite. Off the wall maybe, but fun.
