Hi guys,

I'm always trying to add larger folders (with blades of at least 4") to my collection, and although I own a few I thought I'd ask around to see what your favorite large folders are. I haven't found any assisted openers this large but if they're are any I'd be interested particularly in those, but any large folder models you like would be great.

My current favorite is my Böker Applegate-Fairbairn limited edition. The Escrima is pretty similar. Then there are the Benchmade Onslaught, Bedlam, and 710, the Spyderco Military and Police, and the ZT 0200.

If youre interested in large assisted openers you should look at the HTM mad maxx 4 in or 5.5 in. but one of my favorite large folder right now is the Benchmade Skirmish.

I had the Skirmish once upon a time... it was a great knife! I've been looking into the ZTs, I just wish I had more money. ;)

ZT 0200, ZT 0500 MUDD, CS Rajah 2, Strider SmF, Pohl Force Alpha 2, Spyderco Military, BM Rukus are a few of the large folders I like.

Get a ZT and you will not be disappointed. Well worth the money and a much better value than most recommended knives.

For a big blade but extremely light and thin, the 4'' blade of the Al Mar Eagle, I have one and it is personally one of my favorites. Not a work horse by any means, but a lot of blade reach.

For now, it's this - Viper Start. It's about the same size as ZT 0200, bit longer when opened but the handle is thinner. Other favourites are my ZT 0200ST and Cold Steel Recon 1.

I've been really impressed with my Citadel/Fox Deimos. Fox also has some other large folders out and, if the Deimos isn't a fluke, their quality is outstanding.

Lots of Emerson's in that size range! But a Spydie Military would be a great choice too! Wish I could carry those here. (4" carry limit)

Boker A-F FOLDER?! Can you give me a link to that?

ZT0400 and ZT0200. There's also the Offset, but that's a very polar knife. Either you absolutely hate it, or love it.

I love my Benchmade 630 Skirmishs, but the prices for one NIB are getting ridiculous. For carry comfort, the BM 710 and the Spyderco Military are nice. My ZTs are tanks. However, my current favorite is my RJ Martin Overkill. I don't have a Hinderer XM-24 yet, to compare to the Overkill, but if my XM-18 had a 4" blade, it would be my favorite.

Some that people above have already mentioned

My favourites are:

ZT0200 - I have one serrated, one plain edge model
SPyderco Military
CS - Spartan
CS - Rajah II

Next on my list is a ZT0300 variant... ZT are great value for the money, esp. if you pick 'em up used on BF!
