Favorite large knife and/or machete

From a production company, ESEE Junglas for a knife, Condor Bolo 15" for a machete.

also on Baryonyx can anyone tell me what "base of the blade is overground" means? :)

FYI, you can always email or call me with any questions. :) With "Grade B" items marked as being overground it means that when the edge was ground on at the factory it was done too much at the base of the blade, resulting in a slight inward curve there.

is it possible to buy just a hudson bay sheath? I've been looking everywhere for just condor sheaths but all I've found is parangs and golok sheaths...

You would have to contact Condor directly to see about that. They aren't available as a separate item to retailers. :)

You may try calling them. Unfortunately they only have one guy state-side running the whole show. Rick is the most fantastic person imaginable to deal with but the poor guy is constantly swamped with work since he's both the national sales manager AND handles warranty claims, general inquiries, etc. etc. so sometimes emails get lost in his pile. If you get his voicemail just wait a little bit and call again--you'll get through eventually. :)

3V Bolo from Big Chris.
Kumar Kami File Khukuri from Himalayan Imports since it's bloody quick to swing.
O'Katz SOD.

Just got a golok the other day and so far its my favorite blade. Condors quality is amazing...and they are actually at decent price unlike some other ''quality'' brands.

Since it came out, I have been using the original Busse straight handle Battle Mistress. Excellent weight, balance and cutting tool. I do a lot of survey, and never leave home without it.

My current favorite large knife is the Bark River Grasso Bolo III.

Of course that may change when I get my hands on the Bark River Parang.

26" imacasa pate de cuche (latin pattern machete). its the one in the middle.
maybe $20 delivered. requires some work when you get it as there is no edge, only an initial bevel. ive used this one for hundreds of hours clearing brush, chopping trees and cutting grass, vines and briars.

why the hell did you sell your becker?! I've got a large latin like that (not imacasa) but still prefer my 14'' Trambo (Tramontina bolo) over anything

Also, how come people seem to prefer the condor golok over the parang? I see much more utility with the parang, just curious

My favorite is my BK9. I'm very fond of my ontario kukri and Ka-Bar grass machete too but I haven't had a chance to play with them much yet.

Stylistic preferences, largely. It all depends on what you intend on using it for and how.

Not sure if it quite counts as a large knife but my Busse TGLB is my favorite. My favorite machete is my Martindale bolo cleaver machete.
