Buck Spyderco, Spyderco Buck. Either way, both class acts.
Spyderco for the reasons already listed plus the great customer service, and Buck because everyone ought to have a good old "pocket knife" to go along with their clip folder. Bucks customer service is also excellant.

SOG...For their fixed blades, Tomcat (heavy-duty folder), multi-tools, and excellent customer SERVICE via Ron Andersen.

Spyderco...For the Military, Chinook, (Massad)Ayoob, Endura, Delica, and Sharpmaker.

Camillus for the "OVB" and Becker Magnum Camp

Fallkniven for the "S-1"
Spyderco for the Goddard.

ect,ect,ect-------------

Remington - those made between 1920 and 1940.
George Schrade - the early years made under various company names
some made by of the knives made by Buck
Early Gerber and Kershaw

Spyderco.

Excellent designs.
The sharpmaker

The most important point is customer service. Sal Glesser is out and about on the forums answering questions and seeking input from users. Warranty repair, refurbishment and sharpening is quick and their reps are courteous. In short, Spyderco is one of the few businesses run by someone who realizes how to threat customers.

Different favs for diffrent reasons also.

Fit and finish- Microtech, although I haven't own a Sebenza or a Tinives yet.

Designs- Spyderco, if Spyderco had Microtechs F&F they would truly be the best.

Fixed blade- SOG, of which I need more of.

Multi tools- Spyderco, I love having an adjustable wrench included, although for a more complete lineup glockman loves SOGs so much I'm going to have to try them.

The next best thing to a auto- Kershaw, I just got a Rainbow Leek thats pretty cool. Great gadget factor.

That all said if I had to pick only one knife to carry for the rest of my days- Benchmade AFCK, you didn't see that one coming did ya? This is still my favorite all around carry knife.:p

Benchmade for me. I love the axis lock, and for my tastes, they have the best looking designs out there.

Folders:
1st-Benchmade (Axis Locks)
2nd-Spyderco (Spydie Hole)
3rd-MicroTech (Fit&Finish)
4th-CRKT (price)

Fixed Blades:
1st-TOPS (Awesome Designs)
2nd-Swamp Rat (Price and CS)

I am going by what I own, so I am sure theres better out there somewhere

Definitely Kershaw for producing the Random Task and MiniTask in a lefty. My Random Task has been my constant EDC for two years now. The Leek is one of my new favorites - affordable, slim, and superfast SpeedSafe. :)

Give the (TiNi) SOG PowerLock and the (Deluxe) Pocket PowerPlier a try, and you'll become another SOG multi-tools convert.:).

Swamp Rat Knife Works

Spyderco for folders and Cold Steel for fixed blades.
The trailmaster has already been mentioned, but the Tanto's are exceptional as well.
