Good morning Hogs and Hogettes!!!

I am curious to know from you all, what I you favorite Mistress?

I dont care about which one chops better right now, I want to know what is your favorite and why.

I am on a little mission to find out just that. Over the course of the next few weeks/months I am going to be trying to figure out which I like best. I have a few different ones to try so it should be alot of fun.

I have already used a CGFBM, FFBM, BWM, and a NMFBM, but I have a couple more that I am going to try and see which I like best.

I recently aquired a ZTBM and a B9 and a SHBM that I have not ever used and I am looking forward to trying them out.

So, what is your favorite and why?

Thanks and have a great day!!!!

I like the CGFBM the best because I just think it's the best looking Mistress. :)

But as far as users go the NMFBM would be my favorite because I think it's the best all around user.

The only one I have left is the BWM. I have not tried it out yet, but I can say I do miss my CGFBM.

You keep quite a stable of Mistress's you naughty boy. :p :D But I have only two thus far a NMFBM AND A FFBM. But for looks I'll say the CGFBM too.
I've not beat my mistress's around yet. So for user's I can't really say yet. :)

I'd have to go CGFBM. Maybe it's the CBT, I don't know but she's a looker in my eyes.:)

CGFBM and a Ruger black powder .45 =

I love my CGFBM but the BWM is getting some serious points and may over take the CG as my favorite. It is light and nimble and not as fatiguing to use. I was concerned about the handle grooves at first but that concern has been assuaged. No serious hot spots when chopping with the BWM.

dobywon,

Nice thread, and it brings up an interesting point. Does anyone think of their Battle Mistress first as anything other than a chopper? I realize a 10" blade knife can be used for other things. I could see self defense, perhaps, and possibly heavy prying. But I'd rather use something smaller/lighter/more agile for most chores/utility work, personally. So what IS the primary function of a 10" blade Battle Mistress, if not chopping? Just curious.

Sure, you can do small knife stuff with a BM no problem.

The 2007 Special Edition FBM (a variant of the FBM LE) is marvellous. The weight and balance is just right ... and, if you're brave enough to use it, it's a great knife all around (solid chopper!).

The original SHBM has a unique combination of comfort, balance, and style that makes it "THE" original classic. I'll always have at least one of them.

That's about as close as I can come to an answer. Of course, I haven't had a chance to really inspect a BWM yet.

Yeah, but what I mean is, what is a BM your first/best choice for, if not chopping? Any other specific function it's better at than anything else you own?

I wouldn't say better than.... ;)

I would say as good as. :)

A big knife can do small knife tasks much easier than a small knife can do large ones. That's all that I am saying. :)

Somethings you get better control with a bigger blade because you can use 2 hands instead of one.
