Nothing wrong with a little tacticool.

cold steel I love ti lites and counter points but there's lots of others
I like manual stiletto styles or clip points not a fan of flippers or spring assisted but everyone's different
I own more fixed blades than folders it's hard for me to find folders I like I'm pickey it's hunting out what you want that's hard if you find what you want use it and if it lives up to what you want buy two or a few like I did in diffrent blade and handle materials you won't regret it if you like the model just more options to carry a folder you trust in diffrent styles

I have piles of non-flippers that I really like, including a lot of expensive and very nice knives, but it's to my continuing embarrassment that this is the pocket clip of what has become one of my absolute favorite non-flipper knives to pocket:

Here's the rest of it, incidentally:

I have to admit that I sort of love it, skulls and strange cutout at the end of the handle and all. I have no defense for myself.

Maybe I need to start using the tacticool thread as a shopping list . . .
That is pretty fun. Where can I get one?

That is pretty fun. Where can I get one?

I bought mine direct from the Daggerr Knives site (they have the site in English) but there are some retailers in the US that carry them.

The real fun is the action--it has a stiff detent and runs on bearing, so if you middle finger flick it the thing fires like a rocket. :)

Off the top of my head:

Les George Talos: The size, the shape. The absolute smoothest knife I own.

Spyderco Military Fluted Titanium: I swapped in a CTS-204P blade from one of the many limited editions out there. Looks good and feels good.

Combat Elite Tactical Elite Level 3: I've had this one since 2002 just before I first went abroad. Carried it in some places that I wasn't supposed to. It has a thin profile and hides well. A great companion to have as backup.

I’ve only ever owned one flipper. I had a 3 inch xm 18 slicer for a couple weeks and it just wasn’t the knife for me. I guess I’ve put the blame on it being a flipper in my my but if I’m honest the knife just didn’t fit my hand well. I would try another if the ergos were different and I’d try the 3 inch xm 18 again in a non flipper.

Oh and to answer the question at hand.
Small Sebenza
Mini SERE 2000
Are my all time faves

me personally, I'm just tired of them! Seems like all anyone makes now is flippers. Do t get me wrong, there.is something about them that is alluring. I just find I'd rather have more control.over blade deployment speed!! This is one of my favorite flippers!!View attachment 1287019

Agreed. It's crazy that the word "non-flipper" has come into usage. Flippers are a new phenomenon. When did they come into existence? 5-10 years ago?

The vast vast majority of knives are "non-flippers"...though with the flipper buying and marketing frenzied mania over the last few years it is hard to remember sometimes.

Since none of my knives are flippers, I guess all my knives are "favorite non-flippers."

Any SAK Tinker style; prefer Tinker for around house, Deluxe Tinker when out and about.
Rich

I EDC a Super Tinker, so I guess IT is my favorite non-flipper. It is also my favorite non-oosik handled knife, my favorite non-ballistic knife, and my favorite knife not made on Neptune.

Been thinking some more and I forgot to mention several more recent acquisitions:

Oberland Arms Titan Sepp: I love this knife. It's boring D2 steel blade but just looks and feels great in the hand. I don't remember who made it for OA but I hear it was a run of 300 knives or so.

Oberland Arms Gloa Sepp: A smaller brother or cousin to the Titan Sepp. It's different, more akin to the Grayman Dua in size and shape, but is just a neat little knife. It's also a limited release. I'm just really glad to have been patient and tracked them both down.

Hinderer XM-18 3.5" 20CV Spearpoint non-flipper: The story goes my brother got a Hinderer XM-18 many, many years ago and loves it. Always suggested I try one. I never thought to until I saw that they were available without a flipper tab. Picked one up in December and really like it. Now I'd really like to get an XM-24 with a 20CV Spanto working finish blade and DLC titanium handles - no G10. Probably going to have to do it myself.
