Favorite Opening System?

I like dual thumb studs or hole. I am very ambidextrous, so I prefer something that I can open with either hand.

On a modern knife I like a thumbstud, but I have lots of traditional knives where a nail nick or simply pinching the blade is the opening method.
I can't stand assisted opening, I can open my knife myself without causing unneeded wear!

I love a slip joint I can pinch open, nail nicks don't bother me one bit however. If I want fast I'll carry a fixed blade.

For modern knives hands down the spydie hole, nothing better

The Spyderco Round Hole is king if you ask me.

My least favorite are those (in my opinion) ugly looking oval holes from other makers.

See, I'm opposite, I don't mind some holes; Buck comes to mind, but the perfectly round spydie holes leave me wanting something else?

For the most part though I'm pretty much open to all. I would say thumb disks are my least favorite, but it's an aesthetics thing, just think they look awkward, but still, I don't hate 'em. Flippers, studs, holes, disks, nicks, as long they work...

Spyderco hole opener is my favorite. It works more reliably than thumb studs, even more so when wet or wearing gloves.

Whichever system is built into my favorites knives. At the moment it's studs and the Spydiehole, a year ago it was flippers.

I don't dislike any opening system, they are almost always the best for the knives that they occupy.

Anything that opens by grabbing the pocket on the draw.

Flipper, then thumbstud.

One handed opening is king for me, so I like nail nicks least of all, and I find the Spyderhole(and the related knockoffs) significantly slower and harder to use than other 1 handed opening methods.

Waved knives get a bonus because they usually have a stud or disk or hole. I don't like knives with a nail nick unless they b purty.

In this order:
Spydie hole, particularly the larger holes.
Thumb studs are great but sometimes need removing for sharpening. No biggie there though.
I like flippers but the end of my index finger is a bit damaged due to an industrial accident years ago so I tend to use my thumb for flippers.

Not keen on nail nicks simply because it's a 2 handed thing.

Favorites: thumb stud, flippers (manual or assisted), auto
Okay: spydie hole, thumb disk
Least favorite: nail nick

I prefer the axis, from benchmade as I do not need a thumb stud, hole, or flipper tab. Just hold the axis down and light swing.
The holes would be 2nd.

Emerson wave.
then flippers,
then studs or disks.

least favorite is nail nick.

Spring assist..my S&W First Response. Index finger on top of blade.
From pocket to open..less than 2 seconds.

+1
Since I first tried the wave, everything I have modded has been some kind of wave/hook/notch/protusion or version of the Emerson Wave that works alike.
