Not just another EDC thread. What is your favorite EDC pen? Fountain, Ball, Roller, Gel, Cheap, Expensive, what? Mont Blanc, Rotring (my fave, satin and black 600 BP's, love 'em), Omas, Lamy, Bic (my only real French guilty pleasure, with the exception of Catherine Denueve)....

Let's hear it!

"The thin design gives it an eloquent look and feel. The ceramic ball in the pen is superior to metal as it rolls smoother and uses water-based ink that metal balls can't because of corrosion. A beautiful, smooth writing pen."

Just got this from Kyocera dirt cheap ... love it!

I carry a ball point or a roller ball because of convenience, and I wouldn't cry if it got lost.

But the pens that I keep by my chair and desk to write with by choice are fountain pens. I love to write with a good fountain pen.

My EDC pen is a Rotring Initial FP, fine nib, in silver. Beautiful pen, always wanted one, just got it on ebay for $45. Otherwise, I carry a Lamy Safari FP; I also like the Lamy, but I don't like the proprietary cartridges :(

I mainly use either an early '50s Parker 51 fountain pen (black barrel, fine nib, blue-black ink), a Namiki Vanishing Point (i.e. retractable nib) fountain pen (black barrel, medium nib, blue ink) and a Fisher Space pen (chrome, broad blue refill). I have 60 or so fountain pens in my collection, but these 3 do probably 90%+ of my writing.

For meetings I will often use a Sheaffer Legacy II fountain pen (black barrel, palladium cap, broad nib, truq. ink) and for long note-taking sessions I like a cheap Cross Solo fountain pen (bright blue barrel, hair-thin extra-fine nib, blue-black ink).

- Parker 25 stainless steel ballpoint with blue fine refill (had since my school days)

- Fisher Space pen, chrome, blue refill

Black Bullet space pen - with stylus tip at other end.

Dizos: the bullet version is a tad under 4 inches. Fits nicely just about anywhere, and when you write, you put the cap on the other end and it extends the length to make it comfortable to hold.

I always seem to carry the same pair. A Rotring Quatro and a Fisher Bullet right next to it. The Quatro is more convienent but the Fisher writes in some harsh conditions at work when the Rotring won't.

I was just asking about EDC pens is this thread:

EDC - What's in Your Pocket(s)??

and had just done a couple of photos to post, when I found this thread.

The Fisher Bullet Space pen is cool  and is a nice pocket carry - I love the way it is only 3.6" long closed but when uncapped and the cap is placed on the other end the pen becomes regular length - great design. The original polished chrome version is the classic, although there are now many other finishes - the titanium plated version looks nice.

However I had taken to carrying a very slim and short (4") stainless steel ballpoint pen made by Zebra (Japan) that I picked up many years ago when visiting Hong Kong - it clips and fits nicely in the fold of my tri-fold wallet.

Here's a pic showing the relative sizes including a Fisher Bullet Space Pen:

the others are my non-carry favorites -
Uni-Ball Deluxe Micro writes fine with just enough resistance to give me control.

Anyone ever have globbing problems with their Fisher refills? I think they're great, but I've had two glob up on me in my Rotring 600 & Retro 51 Tornado. I'm kinda losing my faith in them. Besides, I've become infatuated with the new Parker Gel refills.

Fisher Space Bullet Pen. Black. Not a single scratch on it despite being my EDC and sharing pocket with keys, coins, pocket knife, etc.

Fisher Space Pen...I've had that sucker for about 15 years now.

Another Fisher Space pen user here. I like the new moondust colors because you get beautiful colors along with the grip rings along the silver barrel like you would with the chrome.

I have the blue one.
