Favorite Pen?

That's a good looking pen. I have a couple of Bullets and a Telescoping model. I also have a Sensa that I carry at work.

Got a blue lacquer Fisher bullet, and a chrome one.

Only pen I use except for Pilot's extra fine "precise rolling ball V5".
Going to get some fine refills to try out in my Fishers, soon.

Al, I have had that problem with one of mine.

Here's my "writing EDC" -- Cross Townsend, Rollerball. I absolutely love this pen!

It would appear that there is some form of "retail price maintenance" on Fisher Space Pens (is this actually legal?)

eg: it's not possible to find the standard polished chrome bullet pen below $18 anywhere.......

if one follows the Fisher Space pen links on the referenced website - it actually says this:
QUOTE:
Some internet listings and search engines still show 20% Off Fisher Space Pens. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Due to circumstances beyond our immediate control, we are no longer able to discount Fisher Space Pens...

Darn, they must have changed it ... I got mine through them for $11 plus ship.

Just went through the process ... unless they are lying, I think they are even giving away a free refill with purchase. "Real" Fisher Bullet Pen & Refill for $14 to your door. Can't beat that!!!!!

I have bought one through them before so I know at least the bullet pen to your door for $14 is true.

*Just did a Paypal purchase for the hell of it ... I will let you know if it all comes to my house.

Staples had Bullets for $14.99 about a year ago. They weren't listed on the Staples website, I guess they were only available in the stores. I'll check this week when I look for the Zebra pocket pens. The Zebras are on available from Staples online.

I've purchased 2 Fisher Telescoping pens from Penwa for $20/ea. The latest was last summer. Great service.

To support what Ryan said:

If you want a telescoping Fisher Space pen, or a Chrome Bullet, go to
this page and follow the instructions.

Do not ask questions.
If you're in Europe, pay your $5.00 shipping.
It's even below UK duty bands.

How hard can that be?

I carry a zebra f-301 BP pen that comes in a two pack from walmart for 3.00. ITs nice enough to do most of my writing chores, and if it gets washed or lost Im not out too much either.

I may get flamed for this, but I really like my black Mont Blanc Meisterstuck rollerball. It has the finest rollerball point I have found. I have carried it since November of 2000 and haven't had any problems out of it yet.

A Cross Ion that I found today;) . Well my friend found it and I snatched it from him. Told him he knew how much I loved gadgets:D . But I said I'd give it to him when I get my Fisher.

Inspired by this thread, I finally got off my butt and ordered a pen for myself. I figure that if I'm carrying more than $2 worth of writing utensil, I might like being a student more.

I don't particularly like my Fisher; it writes terribly, the black ink is most definitely not black, the body once got stuck in the cap (and I had to yank it out with pliers, denting it), and the cheap plastic stylus tip on the top is deforming from normal pocket carry. Definitely not worth the $25 or so I paid for it at Chesapeake Knife & Tool (impulse gadget buy :)).

I prefer using gel ink refills or rollerballs, so I ordered a black Rotring 600 rollerball. I'll see how well the rollerball writes, but mainly I think I'll use Pilot G2 gel refills. I've had problems with G2's leaking ink before, though I think it had something to do with throwing my pencil case around.

In my pocket right now are a black Pilot G-2 07, a blue Sanford uni-ball gel RT med. and a black Sanford uni-ball micro. In my bag I have some art pens that cost me a little more- by Sakura, six colors .25mm line width. In a zip-lock with some woodless graphite pencils I also have a pen with a .20mm line width, good for pointilism.

Al, I have had that problem with one of mine.

I've had the black matte pen and the blue lacquer - Owen's scan doesn't do it justice (sorry Owen!) :) The lacquered pens are definitely worth the extra bucks just for the improvement in looks!

I occasionally will experience a glob of ink, but it is rare.

Owen - let me know how those fine refills work out - I've been thinking about picking one up as well...

I used to have a Sensa ballpoint (uses Fisher cartridges) but I was unsatisfied with its smoothness and consistency of the line. The Sensa rollerball, however, is awesome. The first capless rollerballs I've seen (retractable just like a ballpoint, no cap needed). The cushy grip doesn't hurt, either :D .

I've had good luck with the zebras also. I've written on glass with them!! The hospital provides us with a bic medium model that works good but I need a retractable point so I dont' mess up my pocket with little black lines. Right now I use a gel retractable pen, I'm not sure of the model. It's cheap but meets all my needs.

Great thread!! I see I'm not the only one that has "pen needs". :p

Thanks for the link, Ryan. Anyone do the engraving? I find it hard to believe that there's no setup fee to laser engrave one pen and it's only $10 extra.

It's funny that this thread came up. Just before Spring Break I met this girl and got her number...only problem is I had no fricking pen! Luckily I was smart enough to plug it into my phone but still wanted to write down the number since I just knew something would happen to the number if I didn't do a "backup." I ended up asking the parking attendant for a pen. I've been looking for a good pen ever since.
