Favorite places to buy knives?

Even though I have 4 major sporting goods stores in the area, the knife selection is horrid. There is no "knife" shops anywhere. This causes me to purchase/trade 90% of my knives from forums, reputable online retailers and the evil auction site.

I like buying knives here, on the For Sale section of the forum. I don't mind lightly used knives, and the folks here have all been great to deal with!
As far as new knives, I have great luck with New Graham Knives, Knives Ship Free, and DLT.:D

in no particular order, chestnut ridge knife shop, knifeworks, bladehq, ag russell, bladeforums makers forum

other places i have bought knives from that I am not as enthused about buying from, bladeforums used, knifeforums used, ebay, 888knives, and knifesupply...the only one i am considering not buying from again is knifesupply

I am fairly new here but have dealt with The Spyderco Store a lot and like them. So many online sellers- Knifeworks, Sooner, Graham, on and on. Amazon always has good prices but no selections as do other ones I mentioned. A.G. Russell is big and well known. Their prices are higher I noticed.

I buy mine from Knifexx.com They have a brick & mortar store here in Walled Lake Michigan so I get to handle the knives before I buy. Their prices are very reasonable.

I've bought most of mine from Knifeworks, Ragweed Forge, A.G. Russell, and Cabela's.
Also in my bookmarked list of knife sellers are Cutlery Shoppe, New Graham, Knife Center, and a few others who may be just as good, but I haven't bought from them yet.

I also buy from eBay, but I don't see any good deals with the buy-it-now, no-auction sales. The auction items have some good prices potentially, depending on how high folks bid. I usually find something I want that still has a low bid and make a slightly higher bid. I won't max bid more than about 80% of what I could get it from a regular knife dealer (including shipping). Then if I happen to fly under the radar and pick one up for a steal (steel ? :-) ), great, otherwise nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I try and support the dedicated knife dealers where I can, even when their prices are a few dollars higher. Usually, though, the absolute cheapest price I will find on a knife will come from a dedicated knife shop like Knifeworks or Cutlery Shoppe, rather than a general purpose store like Amazon. I do buy a huge amount of non-knife goods from Amazon, though. Of course, if somebody is selling a $40 knife for $30, that kind of difference is too big to ignore. I might still pay the $40 to a local store, if I knew any.

Have purchased from several Internet knife stores. My favorites are Knife Supply, Knife Center, and Cutlery Shoppe.

Ebay. NewGraham. The BF Exchange. Knifeworks.

My latest favorite is Knifecenter. If people on here didn't know, they gave away $100 credit on twitter recently. All you had to do was retweet one of their tweets...

I can't wait until my free goodies show up.. :)

I have bought a few Boker classics from an evil-bayer, some SAKs from Amazon, Marbles & Barkies from DLT & KSF, etc. All but one of my twenty Benchmades in this house came from either Southeastern Guns or Mark's Outdoors, both in or near Birmingham. Then there are the BF sources - especially Kershawguy!

Support your locally owned/operated stores, if you can. Next, support your haunts - like here.

i really like knifecenter since i receive all orders next day due to my geographical location.

There are several spots near me. Notably, Edgeworks in Frederick, MD; and Country Knives in Intercourse, PA. CK has a great selection, but prices are MSRP. Edgeworks prices are pretty good for a brick and mortar. The staff at both are knowledgeable and very courteous.

Outside of that, I have gotten great service from New Graham Knives, Knives Ship Free, Knives Plus, One Stop Knife Shop, Grand Prairie Knives, Cumberland Knives, EDC Depot, now I'm drawing a blank. There are lots of great dealers out there.

I have gotten some good deals at flea markets, gun shows, knife shows (duh), farmers markets etc. Some knife stands come and go, and at the antiques markets, every knife is considered a collectible, ie overpriced.

Best prices are on the online forums.
