Favorite revolver?

i hope all you gun nuts know that an empty gun is just a club !

.

A pricy one at that.

However, with a Beta C Mag, it will take a while to become " just a club"

S & W Mod 11, .38S&W, from S&W Museum Collection. Backstrap stamped S.A.P. for South Africa Police.

I love my S&W 686 4''...of course it's the only revolver I've ever shot so I guess I don't really know anything....though I can't see wanting much more out of a gun!

My favorite revolver is my Smith and Wesson 686 plus 2.5 inch barrel. I have pachmayer grips on it (the ones with the open backstrap). I was thinking about getting some ahrends grips but they are a little bit to fat for my liking.

glamdring, you wrote:

Give the Nill grips some consideration. I had Ahrends grips on mine, and when I switched them to Nill grips, it was a whole new pistol. Here are a couple other shots of mine wearing Nill grips:

Although not my favorite revolver, at least not yet, below is a photo of one of my S&W 500 Magnum revolvers, specifically the S&W 500 Performance Center with 7.5-inch barrel and unfluted cylinder wearing Nill grips and a scope:

Colt Diamondback .22

This almost makes me cry:(, I traded mine on the then new SW 617, the next month they discontinued the Diamondback....Seen 2 at a show yesterday at over $1000 each:eek:
I like the 617 trigger better but that Diamondback was the smoothest revolver I've ever had.

My favorite revolver..."Velvet Revolver"

Nah, it's my SW Classic Hunter 686. I took off the Hogue grips and put SW finger grooves on it. It's the most accurate revolver I've had(had a scope on it for a few years, and it would group)

BTW-Great pics Ken! I love that .500, have you shot it yet?

Favorite would be my M19, 4".

Got it for my 16th birthday. Had it bead blasted and blued, action smoothed out. Lotta sentimental value.

Heck, even shaved my beard off to win it back from my dad on a bet. (I'd traded him for a Colt Government previously...)

I'd have to agree that the 686 with 7 round capacity is a hell of a revolver and certainly my favourite too. I've tried at least six different types of grips and these work the best for me. At least a thousand rounds of mostly 38 special have passed through this barrel. Thanks for posting your great pics Lunde

No pics, but my 629 is a favored deer hunting companion. Also have a 617 that is a lot of fun.

I love wheelguns. When push comes to shove, this is what I count on to work, no matter what. In terms of shooting pleasure, it has to be one of these babies:

The 627PC in the middle has the best action, but the 5-screws on the left give it a challenge in that department. The 8 shots seem to throw people who count your rounds at the range.

This one is my outdoors gun when I am hiking around out here:

629-4 Backpacker with C&S Extreme Duty fixed sights and Ahrends grips

This is the best CCW model I own:

242 with Spegel grips

But this is the one that gives me the most pleasure just to look at, hold, and shoot:

I like the action on the colt revolvers better than other revolvers. This is a colt python I picked up last year.

This was my Dad's before he passed away.

EVERYBODY that shoots it falls in love with it.

I'm looking for a 2.5" .38 diamondback as my next revolver!
