Favorite Tactical/Utility Folder?

If the size is not an issue I would choose between SPYDERCO Military (more onto utility side thanks to fully flat grind and excellent cutting abilities as result) and BENCHMADE Axis AFCK (more onto tactical side thanks to securer handle and more fail proof lock).

If the size should be kept within reasonable borders I would choose between BM Ares (stronger knife), their Griptilian (better buy) and SPYDERCO Lil’ Temperance (truly tactical – strength, lock, handling security etc. - in EDC dimensions).

Being limited in size quite strictly I would choose SPYDERCO Ti-Salsa. This knife is able to do much, much more than it looks.

The 710HS, for the reasons Joe Talmadge listed. It is the only knife that regularly takes the place of my Sebenza.
It is a really great package.

This is my first post after being a lurker for some time - great web site and great information. Thanks to all!

MY favorite folder for utility purposes is the CRKT Crawford/Kasper folder. I have both the plain edge as well as the combo edge and bothy serve my needs as a utility knife well. I think the advantage that the Crawford/Kasper folder has over the BM knives is the handle, IMHO. I compared the BM 710 and the CK folder side by side and found that the CK handle fits my hand better. I also like the finger grip on the underneath edge of the knife - protection from sliding up the knife with your fingers.

you've missed the obvious choice for TACTICAL/utility........the large Classic Sebenza!!:D  ;)

you just had to figure I would say it!

The longer I own my Benchmade 940 the more I like it. Perfect size. Strong!! Light weight and perfect design.

Went from thinking the 710 was best, then the 940, and now it's the 806D2. I also like the Spyderco Native quite a bit. I'm either very fickle or just enjoy carrying different knives. The 806D2 is fantastic, though.

I'd go with the Striker too, BEAUTIFUL grip and multipurpose blade.
Not to mention the abuse it can take :D

No one has mentioned the best production tactical/utility folding knive ever made- Spyderco Wegner!;)

Ralph EDC
Ralph Apogee
Carson Model 4
Benchmade Axis AFCK
Benchmade Osborne 940 Axis Lock
Spyderco Military
Strider AR

There are more, but these are the ones I use the most.

For me it's a toss-up between the Benchmade Mini-AFCK in M2 and the Spyderco Navigator. Both excellent everyday carries that work well in any environment I can imagine taking them.

Just got an old NIB Lefty mini AFCK (spyerco round hole under license) and it works real well in a cute, small kind of way. Fast opener, very crisp! Very nimble little knife.

my vote would have to be for the afck. PHENOMENAL cutting ability, and it works extremely well as a tactical (when I do my FMA knife flows). I really like it with a forward grip...but it becomes a completely different animal when held in earth grip/ice-pick grip. IMHO, this knife was BORN for the earth grip (though I don't much prefer that grip).

I'm so happy with mine, I'm most likely going to purchase another one, when the funds become available.

BM 705 / 710 : Good for both utility and defense.
CRK Sabenza : Good over all utility Knife.
Camillus EDC Talonite : My Favorite. Its light and good blade for utility.

Lg Classic Sebenza; BM 942; MOD Trident

I carry at least one more with me daily, but wouldn't go anywhere without these three.

get either a axis AFCK 806SD2 BM or a emerson SOCFK tanto or SP, either one, ya cant go wrong imho........i have one of each and its hard to choose which one to carry in the morning, but usually opt for the SOCFK, but the 806 is great too
