Favorite Tactical/Utility Folder?

IMO, that horse hasn't even gotten a beating yet...I think a Mini AFCK Axis in D2 (satin-finished) would rock!

I would have to side with the Emerson team in this poll.
I think the Mach-1 would be fabulous for what you are looking for.

However, you could not go wrong with the mini commander or SOCFK (as have already been mentioned).

Besides the inherent superiority of these knives, the fact that you can take them apart and clean and lube them yourself (ex. after a day at the beach) really makes these knives very attractive.

My favorite Tac/Utility folder is the Spydie Military. Oversized hole for ease in use while wearing gloves, 4" flat ground CPM440V steel blade, G10 scales, and IMO, the best linerlock out there(never had mine fail on me).;)

I'm going to weigh in with a minority opinion on this one...

Kershaw Boa!

That deep recurve blade shape is the most versatile I've found. 440V is a great steel choice for a knife this size. The grip is comfortable and secure, especially with the lower blade guard to prevent any slipping. The "speed safe" mechanism makes for fast and positive presentation, but even without it this would be a great defensive knife.

My second choice would be the Benchmade 710. :)

Spyderco Wegner combo blade (partially serrated). Its blade excels in the tasks mentioned; its handle is ergonomically ideal; its quality of materials and craftsmanship is on par with the best of production knives; its medium size is not "too big" nor not "too little"; it looks more "utility/hunter" than "tactical" in overall design (which I think is good); and its price won't bankrupt its owner. Did I miss anything? :D

The Mach 1 is an excellent knife. Also check out the SERE 2000. It ain't my new EDC just cuz it looks good.
