The LocTited knife is not labeled as to the grade of the glue, you have to discover it with your bit.

It doesn't matter. You apply about 250C heat to the fastener. If the fastener is too hard to unscrew, without breaking your bit in the process, apply more heat and retry. If the fastener is still too tight bump the heat up to about 300C.
I use a Hot-Air Rework Station that can heat the fastener without leaving a mark. You can buy a decent rework station nowadays for $60 or so. I just checked one place and they have a Rework Station & Soldering Iron combo unit for less than $90.
I also use Kapton tape to protect the scales.CPK Scale Removal-1a.jpg

I don’t pull out the heat kit until I have determined that red LocTite is involved. The deformed bit cost less than $2 and it still works.

At the risk of derailing this thread, Red Loctite should never be used on fasteners small enough to be removed using a 1/4" hex bit.
Are there any knife manufacturers using Red Loctite during assembly? If so, then they are either flat out wrong, or intend those screws to be permanently installed.
The torque range for Red Loctite starts at 15 Ft. Lbs., and should only be used on 1/4" screws and larger.

I think it’s some manufacturer’s way of saying, “Don’t take this knife apart.”
