Favorite Traditional Folder For The Woods

7OT...

I've carried this Gerber since around 1983. It's heavy enough to use as a hammer if needed.:eek:Since it is so heavy it is no longer an edc, my Sog Trident has that responsibility.

Hmm. as my sole blade? either my 125OT, or my mercator:

But since I usually carry a sheath knife, any of my regular EDC knives would work:

And others...

traditional folders are the only ones i really use. the modern, more tacticle folders are too bulky, plus i really dont care for the look of them.

in my rotation of pocket knives, i have a schrade 3OT, 8OT, a case hunter trapper and an opinel #6. the schrades are my favorites the 8OT coming first, then the 3OT, then the opinel then the case. i was disappointed in the case hunter trapper, especially for the price, but it is still usable.

Probably my Buck 112 (2 dot)

But I have an old Schrade Bear Paw LB7 that would do just fine

Of the TRUE pocket knives (you know, Slippies!) Probably a medium Stockman in any flavor you like. I am hoping Santa brings me a nice Case Medium in CV so I can prove my thoughts.

My Buck Ranger with finger grooves is a beautiful knife, but I also very much enjoy my father's work bench 110 that I recently refurbished. Both are classics in my opinion.

Sak hiker has seen alot miles and been to Flordia several times and Wyoming once. Kinda like a old friend.

Another vote for the Buck 110. I like the sound of one in BG-42. Has there ever been a Buck 110 made from VG-10?

I've got a Sebenza that can hold it's own as well. Actually, the Sebbie spends more time in the woods than the 110 these days. Are Sebenzas 'traditional'?

Traditional? My old boyscout knife if I still had it. An Opinel #7 or #8 now. I like the old timey look of a Case, but I can`t find anything but stainless steel.

i always have a mini trapper on me or full size...

i find it weird. i have been a fixed blade knife collector/enthusthiast for 5 +yrs...

A S&W extreme ops and the Victorinox Explorer. A Buck 110 is never to far away.

Man, I wish I could find me a Yellow case sodbuster in carbon. I love the Jr, just too small for me.

However, This is waiting for me under the tree, I have a feeling it will see serious pocket time.:D

i have seen large boker carbon sodbusters with yellow handles. if you are wanting one, let me know, pick one up for you on my next trip to the knife store.
