Favorite ZDP-189 knife?

Delica 189 clipped in left pocket & the Stretch 189 in the right pocket everyday 365 days a year.! I carry other knives also but I change them around just about everyday but not the Delica or the Stretch..**!!

Another vote for the stretch. But to be honest it's my only zdp knife. Thinking about an endura.

I'm surprised at how easy it is to maintain the edge. I use a big smiths tristone thing, it works great. My salt used to be my lunch knife but my stretch is now a better slicer. I also got a superblue stretch but prefer the zdp.

I think zdp has ruined me for other steels. It just does everything well.

Is that the laminated zdp version? I was looking at that model and noticed it was laminated, (the one I saw). My stretch isn't laminated.

Why do they laminate it? It's not as apt to corrode as superblue, which is why I like my zdp stretch better than my superblue stretch.

My favorite is the Spyderco Stretch Carbon Fiber ZDP. I also have in ZDP the Stretch FRN, Caly 3 CF, Caly 3.5 CF, Endura, Delica, Dragonfly and Ladybug. My second favorite would probably be the Caly 3.5 CF in ZDP. Both the Caly's ZDP's are laminated and it has to with the manufacturer (Moki) of that model. The FRN handled models are made by G. Sakai and they don't laminate the ZDP. It is the reverse with Super Blue as G. Sakai laminates it and Moki does not.

I have the Al Mar Eagle ZDP in brown and love it. Wish they'd revive the the Hawk ultralight w/ partial serrations but in ZDP.

If funds were unlimited, would try a Rockstead.

I'd love to try one of those as well.

I don't mind the laminated either. I kind of like it visually. Regardless, they both work well for me.

My fav is the Delica

And I have it in 3 different blade types in ZDP-189 - Full Flat Grind, Sabre Plain Edge, Sabre full Serrated Edge.

Kershaw shallot composite blade zdp-189 cutting edge.

They ran these much thinner than the regular and s110v shallots. It looks wicked good and slices even better. Good luck finding one, they dont pop up too often anymore.

Second place would be my kershaw FrankenBlur toxic green cf handle with a composite blade zdp-189 edge.

once you get the hang of sharpening zdp 189, i swear it's one of the easiest steels to maintain as a hair popper. but to answer the thread question, it's this (online photo.)

Mine is the AGR Acies - great knife with a beautiful blade grind and it's quite a slicer!
