favotite brand of knife

APF,

What is that knive in your Avatar it looks very nice.

Heh...I changed my avatar back, Swede, but the knife in question is a Bass Pro Buck 'Alpha Dorado' which is one of my favorite knives. The problem is that I have too many favorites. :o

I definitely try not to be brand myopic, but when it comes to folders two brands that I trust heavily are Victorinox and Spyderco. But variety is the spice of life and I do enjoy buying knives from many other great manufacturers

Today my favorites are:

1. Emerson...they beg to be used, and used hard
2. CRK...what's there too say
3. Strider...see Emerson:cool:
4. Benchmade/Spyderco

Dave

Emerson
ESEE
Fallkniven
Spyderco

They all cool they all different

ps.:Except Emerson, Cause Emerson knives are SUPER COOL!

1. Busse
2. Al Mar
3. ESEE
4. Chris Reeve
5. Zero Tolerance
6. TOPS
7. Lone Wolf

In no particular order.

With customs aside:

1. CRK
2. Spyderco
3. Microtech
4. Benchmade

Not in any order because it depends on the knife.

In order:
Spyderco - for there variety, price and there people.! (Kristi #1)
CRK - hard to beat day in day out
ZT - some of them {you can't destroy them}

Leatherman <<<< never will spend another penny on one == enough said.!! {"Junk".!}
Others I just buy for there looks or price and like to try them out.!

Thanks I appreciate it. It's a great looking knife!

I haven't owned/used/carried enough knives in my life to have formed a top 5 listing, however those that I have which satisfied/impressed me sufficiently would include...

  • Buck
  • Victorinox

I'll be looking into Boker, Benchmade & Ontario Cutlery shortly :D

For Fixed Blades, Bang for the Buck, I think Swamp Rat rules.
For Folders I give the edge to Spyderco.
That said, I could not live without Victorinox I use their SAK's and Kitchen knives every day.

I have no brands that I just plain don't like but my biggest pet peeve on the planet is lack of availability. I like to buy good products on my own damn terms, I don't like to have to beg with someone to take my hard earned money.

In no particular order

Emerson
Spyderco
CRK
Busse
ESEE

Pretty much the only brands i buy from...

Lucky to have so many fine brands to choose from. I will list only four - IMHO:

1.) Tie - Buck, Victorinox. - VALUE & Quality
2.) Tie - BRKT, Fullkniven. - QUALITY & Value :D

EESE (formerly RAT).
Mora.
Roselli.
Buck.
Helle.
Spyderco.
Gerber (yes, Gerber..many fine knives a good prices...not all but some).

Fixed blades: Fallkniven

Folders: 1. Spyderco, 2. Buck

I would also include Benchmade because I've had a few and really liked everything about them except, the most important thing, the edge, they are way too obtuse and not very sharp because of that, you shouldn't have to pay so much for a knife that doesn't cut, you shouldn't have to re profile it to be sharp. They have a few models i'd like to get but won't just because i don't want to deal with all the work to make it adequately sharp.

I also want to try Kershaw, it seems a lot of people have many positive things to say about them.
