favotite brand of knife

Well, since Valiant Trading Company and Himalayan Imports aren't really production knife brands per se, my list would be:

1. M.C. Cognet, for their inexpensive wonder, the Douk-Douk.
2. Opinel, enough said.
3. Victorinox. Useful, useful, useful!

:DI like all the knives in the above posts..my favorite would probably be blue grass cutlery..when they made the case classics/ Im suprised at how many people left out sog from their lists...I knew that many people at this forum dislike sog..I just didn't realize how many...IM probably opening up a can of worms here, but I have not been around here to long..how come so many people dislike sog....this could probably be a thread of its own...and might just turn into one

Kershaw - lifetime warranty is great, and they make quite a few knife designs I like. They're not top for me anymore, but they'll always be a brand I consider
Opinel - hard to go wrong with a knife that never changes in design
Müela - I've got a knife since I was 7 years old (am 25 now), and it's still damn good, hard to beat that

Very interesting reading fellas, but I note that most of you tend to name American brands, which I guess is largely a consequence of great marketing - I own several American knives myself! So I thought I'd introduce you guys to something fresh - this guy is a custom knife maker, trying to build a brand and like Chris Reeve, he is also South African. Who knows, maybe someday he will be as famous...

Before I get there, I thought I'd list my fav's as well:

Cold Steel (own one)
Strider (on my wishlist)
CRKT (own one)
Extrema Ratio (on wishlist - love the Italian sex appeal)

Anyhow, check this guy out, I own one of his as well:

My top five:

1. Buck
2. Victorinox
3. Leatherman (if that counts)
4. Schrade
5. CRKT

Kershaw gets Honorable Mention

Spyderco
Fallkniven
Benchmade
Mora (Frosts, Eriksson)
Kershaw
Scrapyard
Schrade (old US production)
John Primble Belknap Hardware (old US production)

If I had to choose only one brand it would be Spyderco. There's nothing I have never needed to do with a knife that I couldn't have done with one of Spyderco's products.

1. Busse (Busse Kin)
2. Spyderco
3. ESEE
4. Bark River
5. Schrade (Older models made in USA)
6. Victorinox
7. Swedish Mora
8. Dozier Knives

ESEE,Buck,Becker,Victorinox,Leatherman,Bussekin,Cold Steel,Case,Spyderco,Kershaw,Benchmade,and Queen.I might have missed a few.

Top 5 is quite a handful. For me:

1 ESEE: Great knives, unbeatable quality and warranty.
2 Cold Steel: The variety they have is awesome.
3 Victorinox: Practical everyday, sheeple friendly, easily replaceable.

In no particular order
Bark River
Spyderco

Kershaw
Falkniven
Al Mar

Three pages of feedback and only one mention of Klötzli ???
Definitely more people ought to try them ! They're world class.

Otherwise, there are many good brands.
Mine would today be Spyderco, Klotzli, Fontenille-Pataud, Victorinox, Opinel. Tomorrow might give a different list, but Spyderco en Klotzli will always be included.

My favorites in no particular order would be:

Bark River
Al Mar
Benchmade
Spyderco
Fallkniven
Victorinox
