Generally speaking, a custom knife is one made to the specifications of the buyer. It is different from a handmade knife. It is also different from a mid-tech knife which is also a hybrid of sorts.
Not everything already listed or which will be listed is a "custom" knife made by custom knife makers.
I have many examples of each. But fewer actual "custom" knives, by and large...which were made for me with a design which was a collaboration with the maker.
Speaking of non sequiturs. The industry revolves around the term “custom” knives and 99% of people know what that term means![]()

You can custom make something to your own design. If I buy it from you, then it wasn't a custom knife made for me. It's something which I purchased which was designed and made to your specs. (It could still be a "handmade" though. Depending upon how that's defined.)Hypothetically "wrench"....haha.?
Knife Philosophy
Isn't All knives made by a Custom knife maker, a custom knife?
True, it wasn't spec'd out to You, or another....But,
The maker Did make it how (they) wanted.
-arent they a person too......![]()
He makes nice, boring knives. And that "thanks" fella!

Quibble as much as you like. I've got most of the day available except for walking the dog and helping the missus. (Maybe hockey and baseball games in between.)
