Favourite custom maker/s?

I disagree that custom means made to your specifications. Does it being made to someone else's specifications suddenly change the knife to a non-custom when you buy it? Or is Tom Mayo not a custom knife maker because he doesn't take orders, he just makes whatever he wants to make and people buy it? Custom just means it has artisanal quality in not being mass-produced by a factory. Mid-tech has some aspect of both.

Lots of awesome custom bladesmiths on this forum, and I wish I could afford one or two from each of them. I'm not even sure if the few "customs" I have really qualify. They include a Dozier K1 with beautiful jigged bone grips which I bought down in Wharton, Texas from Carroll's Gun Shop around 20 years ago with my first pension cheque, as a reward for having lived long enough to get something back from the government for a change; a Scandi in 1070 by Ivan Campos of Sao Paulo, Brazil, handled in gorgeous ivory ebony by Kris Klammer of Edmonton; a kukri forged by who knows who somewhere in Nepal. which I picked up around 30 years ago in Edmonton, and a couple 112's from Buck's Custom Shop. I'm expecting FedEx to drop off my 110 in Magnacut, nickle silver frame and elk grips tomorrow.
