Favourite HI product and why ??

My favorite is my YCS. Everything about it feels right. Performance is excellent and it looks great. Second is my 18" sirupati. I put finger grooves in the handle which makes it fit my hand perfectly. I like the lightness of the blade and the ease of use. Even though it's small for a khukuri, it's still bigger and tougher than most other knives.

Here's a pic of my 12" Ghopte. Its spine shapes a hunch as the khukuri is named after. Special feature by my custom order is the curvature, and its thickness up to 1/2" at the spine. Scabbard became very bulky for its length, but holds the khukuri well at the habaki style bolster. Uncle Bill had warned me beforehand that a custom order without wooden model might turn out, however it was satisfactory. My only wish is a little longer (1" or around) handle. It could spoil the current shape that I don't dare to try.

THAT is truly lovely. A work of art. Congratulations on your ownership of such a beautiful and unique blade!

I only have 3 HI khuks: A 16.5" Durba Chiruwa AK, a Bura Dhankuta w/ a Kothimoda scabbard, and a 8.5" "Bilton" w/ a rosewood handle.

The Bilton is my constant companion and does everything that my Puukko, boot dagger, and Wharncliff knives can do - all in one knife! Bill should have Bura track down the village kami who sold them to him, and make them a part of HI's regular product line. I'm willing to bet that they'd sell more of those than all other khuks combined.

My Dhankuta is my concealed weapon of choice. The Durba Chiruwa is my bedside companion. It would also be my tool of first choice if I had to restart civilization.

There's them dadgummed Biltons again.:grumpy: I sure want to get my hands on one of those "Supersized Kagas Katnes".:( ;)
