Hard to beat a Barlow pattern in that size knife.

In daily life it is a small SAK that I use most. One of my favourites is the Victorinox Cadet. It has a number of very useful tools in a small and light package.

For small locking folders it is the Fällkniven TK4 that's my favourite. A great little knife.

I grew up with slipjoints and still have the Swiss Army Knife I bought when I was eleven, but I'm not a big fan of slipjoints since good lock systems showed up, esp Spyderco's stuff. My smallest folder is a Sage2. I prefer a knife with a sizeable handle I can get my large hands around so the Sage is about as small as I want to go. However, people say that the Caly 3 in ZDP-189 and carbon fiber is a fantastic small lockback knife.

Always find a Ladybug hanging around my key-chain; for all the really little stuff. Enjoyed a G-10 Dragonfly for a bit, but then it went away. However, that FRN version looks appealing.

JAB,when I saw the pic of your Damascus Peanut I had to check my left jean pocket, looks like the twin of mine.Great knife!-Jim

I find myself gravitating toward smaller folders also. My EDC includes a Victorinox midnight mini champ. It measures only 2 1/4" and is packed with tools. When I first got it I thought the light on it was a waste, but it has come in handy more times than I can recall. My other EDC is a Boker medium stockman. It measures about 3 1/4" and gets used quite a bit. I have a Case medium stockman but it doesn't have the sheepsfoot blade so the Boker gets more use.

These are two that see some carry time. First is a Bulldog EZ open in stag

This one is a Case mini trapper with wharcliffe blade.

While I have not been able to rid my pockets of the larger folders, I appreciate the peewees as well.

It is hard to go wrong with GEC's. 12-months ago, I knew nothing about them. Ran into the owners at a manufacturer's day at Smoky Mt Knife Works and handled some of their knives. My first thought... expensive. I got over the cost issue. Now I have three or four of their knives. My last was a Sunfish pattern which I have taken a liking to for its heft. My first was a Great Eastern and it is a nail biter.

Two of my fave sub-three-inchers:

Some good-lookin' knives, fellas!

I must say, I love those Wharnies... especially on the more traditional style slip-joints! (Rick, that Ohta is a beaut!)

My go to little guy is a Strider PT CC Tanto.

My God, that's an exquisite little knife!!!

That may be the only knife that could lure me away from my damascus peanut. Just staring at the pic made me start to drool a little.

Carl.
